My husband and I talked about driving to Rocky Mt. NC for dinner, then we remembered the Bank Inspired by Lucy & Linda... Restaurant here in Emporia, Va. The customer service was excellent and so was the food! The honey old bay fried chicken, mac andcheese, yams, string beans and corn bread were pure perfection! Food was excellent. Honey old bay wings, fish sandwich, enough fish for 2 sandwiches and club sandwich was good. Food steaming... hot. Great unique place in old bank. Service was slow for few customers, but there was a party in another room. Overall, worththe stop. Read more

Food was freshly prepared and hot. Service was fast and friendly.

Went here for a work lunch. Nice for Emporia, but at best 3-star anywhere else.\n\nIt was a real mixed bag. Vegetables were... really fresh and good (wonderfully ripe tomatoes), burger meat as well. Other ingredients (bread, cheese, French fries) couldhave been bought at Wal-Mart.\n\nSeemed to have a decent bar menu, but as this was a work lunch alcohol was not consumed.Strangely enough, they didn\'t have coffee.\n\nService was pleasant, but slow and not suitable for a relatively quick meal (andI am comparing this to other comparable restaurants, not fast food). If you are driving on 58 or I-95 around lunch or dinner time, you won\'t regret spending a few extra minutes to get to The Bank... in downtown Emporia. They have several craft beers on tap, and a variety of southern-style dishes. I had the hamburger steak with beets and potato salad and food was very good. The waitress keep tea glass fill and checked on us... regularly. Prices were 11.49 for hamburger steak which is in line. Judy had smother chicken that was good also. Read more
