As beautiful as these pieces were I was unable to enjoy them. I felt uncomfortable the entire time not only as someone with... anxiety but also as a woman of color. I had my ESA with me and the staff was holding her to a higher standard than the peoplewalking in there. I also noticed that the other families in there were not being followed as I was being followed the entiretime. The fact that I paid 5$ to see this exhibit and them following us around gave me more anxiety, I wasnt even able to enjoyit. Do not recommend for people of color or people with any kind of mental ailment. Very disrespectful in that regard. Maybe aclass on ethics and professionalism to all for the staff would be useful. This museum is a great place to visit for a surprisingly low price. Today i visited with my 11 year old and 21 year old... children, and all three of us found the exhibits engaging. My 11 year old has visited multiple times since he was about 4, andhas always been fascinated by everything. Definitely worth the visit for all ages, but not overwhelming for children, likelarger art museums might be. Always highly recommended! Read more

If you ever find yourself walking around the University of Oregon this is one of the best places to stop by and take a look at... the wonders inside. The exhibits are always refreshing to see and never fail to surprise us. They are a constant breathe offresh air and will no doubt breathe life back into and mundane day you may find yourself in. Interesting eclectic collections mainly Asian art though there are some unexpected surprises thrown in such as two Monet?s... hanging side by side and a Whistler hanging at the end of an undiscovered corridor. Friendly staff and $5 entry. Read more

We had a good day out with the family visiting Eugene, Oregon. We went to the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at The University... of Oregon that had some great ancient Gandhara Buddhist art, some great old wood carvings of Avalokiteshvara, a samurai suitthat looked like it would have fit my 12-year-old daughter, some Chinese emperor court costumes, ancient Chinese pottery andcarved glassware, some Eastern Orthodox Russian Icons, ancient Greek Pottery and some other neat stuff. It is not easy seeingancient Buddhist art in Oregon, but this museum was definitely worth seeing and even had some extras that were great! Read more
