Menu for Mr. Dominic's on Main in Fairport, NY

Went back a few times and the the place is always crowded but the service has become horrible. If it wants to be a party house... for large groups fine, then don't take reservations for individual parties. It can't be a restaurant and a party house at thesame place and time on weekends. This is the second time we had reservations for the main house portion of the restaurant andwere put at a tiny table with four chairs. There is no room for bread plates, much less drinks, water glasses, salad plates andmain dishes. These tables might be able to accommodate 2 people but not 4. It has been that way since they opened and it has notchanged. Very poor management. Horrible experience. 7:15 reservation. Our waiter came over and said the kitchen is backed upan hour. We ordered two appetizers, salads and entrees . Sautéed calamari came out wrong twice, fried both times. The thirdtime it came out as ordered, the waiter said he keyed it in wrong. After a ridiculously long time, the waiter came out with ourentrees. No salads. He said the entrees were ready so he pushed back our salads. Ridiculous after a long wait. Then saladswere brought out a few minutes later. Food was excellent, had we not been with another couple we would have left. Managementshould have come over. Hope the owner reads this . Your food can be fabulous but if the dining experience is not, as this wasnot, you will lose customers. I am cutting and pasting a review from the same evening. It is absolutely correct. Wow. From the outside it's very misleading. I thought it was a small restaurant. But once you get in there it just opens up and... there's so many rooms. It's mansion! The staff are so friendly and the food... The food is amazing Read more

The food is always good at Mr. Dominic's. The service can be slow so plan on a long dinner. Which can be extremely wonderful if... you don't have young children. Reservations are needed on the weekend. The portions are large. I got a chicken and scallops, thespecial, it was so delicious and there was about 10 or more yummy scallops. Welcoming staff, valet parking, fresh & good food. Love their dining rooms - so much culture in them. Our waiter, Ion, was... wonderful! If you think of him, ask to have him as your server. He was respectful, easy going, paid attention to details, etc.We mixed their oil with salt, peppers and other that was available on the table, and dipped their bread in it - it was awesome! Read more
