My first time trying Sri Lankan food, but it will definitely not be the last! I visited Spicy Zest in Farmers Branch and every... single item was absolutely delicious! It is most similar to Indian food ? which is not a surprise given the proximity of SriLanka to India ? with a bit of a twist. I had the Lumprais, which is Fried Rice with Cashews, Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves,Cinnamon, Cloves and Garlic wrapped in a Banana Leaf with Eggplant, Fried Egg, Plantain Curry and a protein of choice. A veryunique dish with many unique flavors throughout. I also tried the Kottu and the Yellow Rice, both equally tasty. Therestaurant was clean, the service friendly and they also have a store in the back with Sri Lankan items for sale. There is alsoa bar, and they do offer a buffet during the weekends. If I have any criticism, it?s that I would prefer a little more spice. That said, I wanted to experience the food in it?s traditional way for my first visit, and they also brought me some chili sauceat my request. There is another location in North Richland Hills, but I understand that the menu is somewhat different. If youlike to try new cuisines, or have never tried Sri Lankan food, you owe it to yourself to try Spicy Zest. If you do, leave a notein the comments to let me know what you thought of it. Read more

Sri Lankan food is here in the metroplex. The food is very delicious. Its similiar to South Indian cuisine, slightly spicier... then North Indian, but not too much. They have less spicy dishes too. This buffet had so much variety of items, from chineserice, lamb biryani, noodles, dosas, pork, beef, chicken, coconut shrimp, veg dishes, and even pastries. Deserts are uniquelydelicious. Also there is a Dosa station where chef makes the dosa to your liking. The service was stood out, very friendlyservers and hosts to wait on you. Also enjoy hot tea or coffee with desert. All of these come with buffet. Definately recommendthis place. Enjoy the nice Sri Lankan hospitality. Read more

This review may go on and on and on just to warn you upfront. This is the first time that I?ve ever tried Siri Lankan food. When... I arrived at this restaurant I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Since I had just came from work I needed to wash upbefore eating. The first thing that I noted was how clean everything was including the restroom. This restaurant is very uniquein that it has some Siri Lankan groceries available, as well as some art. So after being seated the waiter Mohan quickly tookour drink order. Within minutes chef Nimido visited our table and answered questions about the menu. I ordered a plate calledDeviled and my wife ordered a plate called Yellow rice. And we ordered Zesty wings for the table. The meal started with SiriLarkin spring rolls. You have to try these they are amazing. The Deviled plate lived up to its name it was very spicy in justthe right way. The sauce was so flavorful the beef was tender and cooked perfect. My wife loved the Yellow rice with chicken. She told me I have to try these sautéed onions on her plate wow it was a flavor explosion. And don?t forget the zesty wings. The wings had no sign of oil at all they was cook perfectly crispy and had just the right amount of spice. The wings came withfresh hand cut fries. They are delicious! Everything about this experience at spicy zest was over the top excellent. Our waiterMohan did a fabulous job. The food was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends. Get to thisplace right away it?s amazing. Read more

I was in town for a conference and a friend of mine took me to this restaurant I will say I ate here twice during my stay In... Dallas. The atmosphere is very cozy, with nice design and intimate lighting. And, the staff are lovely and can help with themenu it you're undecided. The price is very reasonable too. I love how simplified the menu is and how you can order multipleoptions. I truly enjoy my time at this restaurant and whenever I'm back in Dallas i plan on definitely going back. Read more

First time trying Sri Lankan food and we were not disappointed. We had a large group and I requested if we could do a dinner... buffet, the owner called me and set up the menu and price. From the moment we entered the restaurant, everyone was reallywelcoming. The Chef came out and even fixed my plate. We had varieties of food to choose from the menu. Fried mackerel was ahit. Loved their bitter melon salad. Food were not too spicy as we have expected. Good variety of hot sauce and many condimentson the side. Nice ambience and delicious food for veg and non veg. Highly recommend this place. Read more
