The food here was excellent. The flavors were mind blowing. There were some shortages on what dishes were available, due to them... having an inspection that morning, they said. Regardless, we found an appetizer and two entrees that were very much to ourliking. The Veg 555 is AMAZING, but spicy, so know that going into it. I would order it as an entree, I liked it so much. TheButter Chicken that my friend got was perfection, and the Chettinad Veg Kurma flavors took me right back to a restaurant Ivisited in Agra. Amazing. I like that you get the choice of naan or roti. I don't find that at many local Indian restaurants. The garlic naan is perfection. Mango Lassi was perfection as well. Having been to India, I knew what to expect with spicelevels. If you are unsure and spice sensitive, ask for mild. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the lack of availabilityof so many of the dishes. Read more

Hello everyone, I ordered catering service from MayaBazaar (65 adults, $14 per person) for my daughter's graduation party... (13Aug, starting @5pm). I picked MayaBazaar, because I knew the chef. My friends recommended a different restaurant, but Iwanted to give MayaBazaar a chance. However, I was disappointed for 4 reasons listed below. (1) Poor communication - Owner isdifficult to get a hold off (phone calls, text, email). He does not respond in a timely manner. He gives excuses for lateresponse. Couple of days before the party and on the day of the party, I tried calling and texting him to make sure Foodarrives on time, but received very late response. It did not give me the confidence as party host. (2) Catering Van reached anhour late in spite of multiple reminders. It was almost 6pm, before hot/cold drinks and appetizer were set up for 5pm partystart time. Guests started feeling a bit uncomfortable and they reminded me that Food has not arrived yet, as I was busytalking to friends at the party. Not many drank the tea, as 6pm was late for tea. The driver had all kinds of excuses as whyhe arrived late. (3) Malabar Paratha tray had water - One of the guest pointed out that the bottom of the Paratha tray hadwater in it. I thought that the tray had a hole in it, but the tray was intact. Not sure where the water came from. Cateringperson had to take the paratha out of the tray and dry them. Also, the paratha's were hard. You had to really pull them hardto split open the paratha. (4) One food item was missed - Pappad Food was ok, other than the paratha. However, it was a notpleasant experience, waiting for the food to arrive (anxiety and blood pressure goes up). Hence, I took time to write thisfeedback, so the restaurant owner improves his customer service and other customers are cautious before they consider MayaBazarfor catering. Thank you for reading this message. Read more

Very slow in processing the orders. Just for getting one biryani I had a wait time of 60mins. Also they will mess up the order... if you have more than one dishes. Do not have enough quantity of raita with the biryani. After re-opening they also have raisedtheir prices so I don?t know for what kind of service they want to charge that much. Read more

I really wanted to like this place as I am new to Indian cuisine. The server was nice enough and made food suggestions. I don't... know if this is cultural but the water for the table tasted like it came straight from the tap. No ice or anything. It was asummer evening. Ice is nice. Food was a little to salty. This is where the cold water would have come in handy. I don't eatmuch because I am trying to do better with portion control. I get take home containers and begin to pack up my food when Iobserved a live fly in my rice. It wasn't like when a fly is flying around and it just lands on your food while your shushing itaway. I looked at the fly and the fly looked at me like I was interrupting it! You could tell the fly had been in my food fora while. It appeared drunk and did not fly away even when I motioned for the server to take the bowl away. Instead of flippingout, we calmly paid our bill and left. I sometimes feel a certain way being the only 2 black people in a restaurant. I didn'twant anyone to think I planted the fly to get out of paying a bill. We didn't want to be rude but we threw the take home food inthe trash outside of the restaurant. Fly in my food is disgusting! They lay maggots as soon as they land. Don't get me wrong, Ididn't see any baby maggots in my rice but doesn't they weren't there. Won't be visiting again. 1 star means I hated it. 2stars means I disliked it. The service was ok although I had that bad food experience. Read more
