For the money I paid for a fish sandwich was not worth it. A fish was small and i was expecting at least two pieces of fish for... the price. And I ask for no cheese which I received. The look is nice but the amount of food for the prices is wasn?t worth it.Need more love placed into it???? Read more
The food is consistently good and we have told several people about Jen?s and everyone agrees. The fish is so meaty and fried... golden brown with just enough seasoning. The food is made to order so you may have to wait at least 20 minutes. However, thestaff is attentive and gets the order right every time. First time here. It was a long wait....arrived round 4:50 and waited for 20-25 mins. I will assume it was because of take out... orders. They were very pleasant-greeted by the cook and the cashier which is nice. They were out of bottled waters, so we optedfor the in house juices which were very sweet, but that's okay. As for the food- I have never seen fish that thin. Basically itwas a regular piece cut in half and the consequence of that is overcooking. You can see in the photo the edges were curled andvery rubbery and I did not care for the heavy seasoning in the batter. He got the 4 piece and I got the 2 piece Catfish dinner.Oddly enough, the end of the pieces had very little fish and were actually pretty good if you care for chips! Fries were justokay, the hush puppies had good flavor but were cold. I highly dislike this trend of a serving of coleslaw in a condiment cup.You need the coleslaw to balance flavors and cleanse your palate when eating a fried meal. I mean, it's cabbage basically, whatam I missing? At any rate, my brain is still trying to process exactly what citrus flavor was in it. I hope this place makes itbecause the area could use a good fish place. Keep in mind it is quite small so if you plan to dine-in you may have troublegetting a seat at peak times. We have been to this location and their other location plenty of times and we?re usually not disappointed Got the shrimp/grits... and catfish/grits bowl and enjoyed both.
