Food was amazing we ordered Tacos(Pastor); salad; Birria(Tacos); Grilled shrimp bowl. Everything was delicious. Server was very... attentive and didn't forget anything that she said that was going to bring to the table. Most of the time; servers write theorder and forget some specific details. It started out with the greeter ushering us to the outside terrace, showing us our table, which was dirty, and after placing... down the menus and silverware walked away. My chair had food on it from the previous patrons. I switched chairs and when thewaitress showed up I asked her if she could wipe down the table. She did and apologized--no big deal- I said. It went down hillfrom there. Overall, the place is dirty and the food was less than appetizing. I ordered a side of guacamole, which never came,even after I reminded the waitress. It had been months since we had gone out to eat, and this experience was a total let down.It was as if the staff didn't care how they represent their place of work or value customers. Too sad. On the Border used to bea decent place to eat, unwind and take guests to, but over the years it started going downhill. This time it really tanked. Read more
Well this used to be my favorite place to go. It's a Friday night at 7:30 pm. They have outside seating so we wanted to enjoy... the gorgeous evening and eat outside. Someone (young girl) comes up and acknowledged us. We asked if we could sit outside andshe said "we have nothing but dirty tables outside and our server is swamped". We said "ok no problem. Could we wait?" She said"sure." While waiting I went to use the ladies room and OH MY WORD! The smell of sewer was unbearable! As I head back I countedand there were 10 tables sitting inside the restaurant, 2 employees playing on their phones at a table, 2 others standing andtalking by the bar. The $6 watermelon Margarita was the best thing my friend and I ordered. My friend ordered shrimp tacos and she said it didn't... taste very good. I ate all my food because we came in there with a big appetite. I ordered the carne asada but I don't think thesteak was a 9oz as stated. The picture of the carne asada on their website looks twice the size which is very deceiving. I'veordered 6oz steaks before and they looked the same size as the 9oz steak here. I don't think ordering the carne asada at On theBorder is worth $17. The carne asada comes with rice, veggies, and a jalapeno. To me the rice was bland. I felt like I waseating a pack of microwave rice. The whole time I was wondering what the noise was under our table and come to find there was apuddle underneath us but I don't know if someone spilled something there before us. I hope it wasn't a leak. If you like plainfood this is the place for you. Other than that, I recommend going to a different restaurant like Guacaholic in Spring Lake.Guacaholic's carne asada is definitely worth the money there. My friend an I always dine out for some quality time, but wedecided that we don't think another visit here would be the best idea. Read more

Glad to be back On the Border after an attempted disappointing visit back in May, when due to lack of employees we couldn't be... accommodated. Environment couldn't have been better or where else could you watch live Mexico vs Brazil FIFA World Cupgame? Chips and hot salsa were quick to arrive to the table and we devoured them warm and hot. We had carne asada and beeffajitas. The carne asada comes with rice and some fried vegetables, and the fajias were accompanied by tortillas, and lettuce,cheese, diced tomatoes, guacamole, rice and beans. Delicioso!
