Location was great, hotel was charming, but disappointing stay. We asked for a bottle of wine multiple times weeks prior to our reservation to be set in our room and it seemed like no one knew how to set a bottle in the room lol. Multiple outlets didn?t work. There?s no maid service during your stay. Disappointing since the cost to stay is quite a bit for lack of service. Won?t be staying here again. Restaurant food was alright. Nothing impressive for the price.
Ordered a filet and unfortunately it had no flavor and chewed more lik a soft brat. Really liked the atmosphere.
A hidden Door County jewel located iwithin walkable Fish Creek Main Street. This restaurant, located in a historic inn is a great place for couples or a group of adult friends to dine within an attractive setting that includes an enclosed porch or a lovely dining room. Not a place to bring children, the menu offers several delicious offerings that include slightly different takes on classic dishes --- just enough to make one say "wow"! There are also a few offerings for those with a more adventurous palette and an attractive bar where one can enjoy a special wine or a locally sourced craft beer....highly recommend!
New ownership is a great disappointment. We loved the previous chef and staff. Ordered Beef tenderloin medium rare. Arrived well done, all three steaks. The asparagus was raw. They comped us the meal, and offered to redo the steak, but we'd been there for 90 minutes already, so we left. Very sad as we loved this restaurant.
It was OK, only wine, no cocktails.very limited menu on one piece of paper. Not what is posted on Facebook. I would not call this place upscale.
Delighted to finally have visited this low key restaurant. We found the inside porch seating quiet and comfortable, and for a change, well spaced. Wish Chicago would look at how they do business. I had their Bourbon Barrel Lunatic draft beer with the bolognese and it worked as well as a wine. Even my non-beer drinking wife thought it was good. And the service could not have been more friendly. Such a relaxing meal.
We had a table of 6. We immediately ordered a charcuterie board which took nearly an hour to receive only after we asked about it & within minutes of our dinner. Pasta was undercooked & barely warm. Swordfish was cold on the outside which we sent back. Waitress came back to say they cook it medium which has nothing to do with the outside temperature. It came back fish was now hot but vegetables underneath ice cold! Another person in our party tried it & said the same thing. Manager showed up after we sat for approximately 20 minutes after dinner again trying to say internal temperature of the fish was medium. The initial fish was COLD! The vegetables underneath the 2nd time were ICE COLD! The waitress hasn't asked us about dessert, refilled water or cleared dishes until we sat about 20 minutes after finishing. She was clearing tables & it wasn't crowded. New management & staff. Manager kept talking over us. We won't be back.
Hotel review - very comfy beds, clean and simple bathrooms, great to have a parking lot, and quiet (we stayed on a Sunday night only which means the restaurant was closed). Loved how you were downtown fish creek and didn?t need to drive anywhere. If they make any future renovations, I suggest ceiling fans in the bedrooms and maybe a nightlight in the bathroom. Thank you
