First found Oksa's Cakes on Flagler Beach my first trip to this (relatively) quiet part of the coast. This was pre-pandemic. We... drove to Flagler from up closer to Jacksonville and just were exploring this part of a quiet beach. Then we made a couple ofturns off of the coast road and there was this little place with an open sign and in the window it said "Oksa's Cakes." A quickparking job right in front and walked into heaven! In this small space was a very open and bright area with the displays andcounters right along the front of the store. In it were such a profusion of foods representing much of where Oksa and herhusband were from, Eastern Europe. Everything we tried (both in the store at lunch and what we took back to our hotel) wasincredibly delicious. The quality of the food is so good you realize its a blessing on the little beach town with a profusion offoods, but none like you'll find there. There are a few small tables you can use to eat in house, but most of the people tendto order in advance or walk in, buy and take out. Either way, Oksa is happy to help with how to best serve it at home, or talkto you if there is a few minutes between customers. They are incredibly nice, much like many people I've met over time fromEastern Europe, particularly Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria. If you want a large family sized portion or just a smallone for yourself, she'll cut it to the size you want. But the best thing is to try their pastries cakes, meats and specialtiesin one portion size until you find what you most like. I have a problem because I haven't yet (2 1/2 years after my first visit-and we go back every visit to this area...it's THAT good), that I don't think about and start salivating. Their take on aNapoleon is much different than Provence's, but just as mind-blowingly delicious!! I hope you can Oksa and her husband andincrease your gustatory experiences while reducing your cortisol. I love it here. Read more

Disaster and gross Nothing in there was in date, there were hardly any pastries or good of any sort at all on display but... plastic looking rectangle cakes of 3 colors, all small and half cut out, look like they were made days ago. Only one type ofbread pastry that was just sitting out and looked like it had been for days. I decided to get the borsche. It wasn't awful butno bread was to be had. In a bakery.. and I was given some sort of cream cheese that was old and unrefrigerated. Glad i didn'teat it. The man behind the counter hardly spoke English and was extremely unfriendly. It was the worst experience I've had inthis town yet. Find somewhere else. Read more
