I came here because of the high reviews/ratings. My experience was middle of the road. Not impressed. We ordered a new dish... that included items we?d never had before. It was interesting, and just ok. Desserts were good. Disappointed with the drinks.I ordered a Pinot Grigio and was served Chardonnay (as if I wouldn?t know the difference). I also ordered a Sangria. We were visiting the DFW area and found Alma Mexicana on Yelp and, given it?s good ratings, we gave it a try. Glad we did. The... food and service were excellent. I had the Camarones Oaxaca and it was great. A large portion but, more importantly, the thetaste was complex and flavorful. Also, we really liked that it was a small (for now) family run and staffed restaurant. Onepoint, this in not a fancy, white tablecloth kind of place but it was great in every other regard. This is my first time here, and I ordered the lunch special. 2 beef enchiladas, and shredded chicken taco with a side of Modelo.... I was really happy with all my food! Very good taste, and the sauce for the enchiladas was superb!! I would definitely recommendanyone to try this place out. My husband and I enjoyed our lunch here on Saturday afternoon. The food was hot, tasted great and served fast and fresh. Omar... was our server, a very nice guy, and new to Texas so welcome him if you see him :) All of the service was fast, helpful andkind. I've eaten here several times, and I have never been served anything that I did not enjoy. I would highly recommend starting out... with some of the made to order guacamole, and a glass of Horchata. Some of the entrees can be a little on the pricey side(25$-30$), but you definitely get what you pay for here, and there are plenty of options available that are not as expensive,while still being amazing. If you have room for desert, try the fried ice cream with fruity pebbles. I don't know why it works,but it just does, and I will probably buy a box just to put on ice cream at home. Read more
