I returned here after 2 years. This USED to be my absolute favorite restaurant in town, I ordered a bunch of food, extra waffles... (because they were awesome), opened the boxes and it was COMPLETELY different. Chicken was dried out, over cooked, and nottender at all like it used to be. The waffles are completely different as well. They used to be sort of doughy and kinda pulledand tasted like a sweet doughy pretzel.. I've never had anything like it. Now it's more "bready" almost like a crouton, notdoughy at all or dense, it's like a stale waffle with super crunchy sugar crystals. Unless I caught it on a bad night orsomething, it was not the same. Don't even get me started about the "Mac and cheese" which btw is definitely stouffers now. Iunderstand making some in advance and reheating it, I know the old one was, but this was not good. I was SO disappointed when Iopened THAT box- not to mention I ordered a large expecting the old Mac and cheese. It USED to be spiral pasta with a supercreamy white cheese sauce and it was SO GOOD. Their cheeks sauce is also a bit different, or maybe the ratios were just weird. Iam so sad to say I will never go back, it just isn't worth it for the money I paid. Quality down, prices jacked. If you came here when they first opened you?d understand. I paid $12 for what you see. I first discovered Cheeks Chicken and Waffles via Instagram. The last post was in January so I wasn?t sure if the establishment... was still open. I went on google and learned that it is open. The pics I saw on IG was enticing. So I have it a try today andthe food was tasty. I enjoy trying new restaurants and am glad that I came. I am a member of the local baptist church in thearea.
