Went in about 830pm and ordered their version of a Cuban Sandwich to go. The meat was trash. The meat was dry and stringy... like it has been left out for 5 hours. I understand BBQ was the limited shelf-life but if you're going to be open till nighttime you've got to be making new meat during the day. Barbeque is difficult to rate and review, everyone has their own preferences and favorite styles. There are also regional... differences to take into consideration. Hickory Sticks won't disappoint, we found their Pulled Pork sandwich to be good. Notoutstanding, but good. I had my daughters 1st birthday event and Hickory Sticks catered for us. I must say they did an amazing job. Not only was the... food spectacular, the staff was amazing. In Advance ...Sorry Hickory Sticks.. I go here often (4-6 per month). That being said based on Friday nights dinner, YES just 4... days ago, would have rated 4-5 STARS, however Tonight, Baked Beans were not cooked, beans still hard. Onion Rings not shaken orpulled apart in fryer, all stuck together and Mush. New people in here, not same guys I always see, Cook tonight was alsomanager, but fairly new and very nice. Same cook/manager from Friday night and is an awesome meat carver, he slices my brisketperfect. But, please know the truth the FOOD is not consistent, needs to be consistent especially like the baked beans. GreenBeans and mac n cheese always good, but cooked to order. New young man on register and packing, wants to up charge me $2-$3 fora slice of bread. I ask for it this way every single time I come in as my family and I prefer the toast to the corn cakes. In myopinion, should be an option but tonight new guy wants to upcharge me. Cook/Manager nods an approval. I will visit Hickorysticks again and I so hope it gets back up to 5 STARS. Read more
