I often come to Ft. Lauderdale when on vacation to visit family and we enjoy coming to dine in at Steelpan. All the years I been... coming here to dine in today I had one of the worst experiences when dining in. This is the first time I’ve seen this placeout of control. Once I was seated I felt awkward and very uncomfortable. The manager Destiny reeked of marijuana and wasconstantly grabbing on another employee inappropriately. She tried to get me to eat at the buffet which I wasn’t interestedin. When I asked for the bill to be split between 4 of us I was told it wasn’t possible and given a hard time about it. I hopethe service gets better because this is my favorite spot to go eat when visiting family and friends. Read more
Excellent food and service! We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Steelpan during our stay at the Sonesta. The Island... French Toast was phenomenal and one of the most unique breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. It had Guava and cream cheese and wasout of this world! The Steelpan burger was cooked to perfection and had a bacon jam glaze with Goat cheese that complementedeach other perfectly. This was 5 star dining in a hotel and I would come back just to have breakfast and lunch any day of theweek. Excellent food! Lovely atmosphere! Amazing and friendly service! If you are in the area this is a must try! Tropical salad with... the sugarcane grilled shrimp is a perfect entree salad. The jerk chicken wings are delicious and perfectly spiced. Read more
