This was my first omakase, and a year later, after trying out many more, this still has a special place in my heart. The food is... undoubtedly good, but what made this so special is chef Aoki and the staff working here. They are very attentive, pay attentionto details, refill your tea when it's cold, and provide an amazing feel for Japanese hospitality. A lot of other omakase at thisprice range focuses more on using expensive ingredients, but lack the intimacy of sushi Aoki that makes sushi Aoki trulymemorable. I am looking forward to my next time at sushi Aoki. Read more

Not impressed. In this price range, I would choose any sushi/kaiseki place in the city over this one. But if you live nearby,... hate commute, and don?t mind paying extra$$ for above average (say catering sushi) experience, this is a good place to go, to befair at least a half of the fish is imported. Best Omakase experience outside of New York for sure. Only 10 seats and Teo sittings per night but you get the highest quality... sushi and raw dishes. It's also BYOB, so the alcohol doesn't break the bank but current prices are $180 per person so its by nomeans a cheap dinner. It is a 2.5 hour eating experience though and totally worth if for those who love omakase or those thatwant to try. Read more

Excellent food and a wonderful experience. The sushi is on par with the best I've had both in and out of Japan. Chef Aoki... sources all of the main ingredients from Japan specifically and it shows - each piece is its own unique delicacy. As far asOmakase goes this is up there with the best and the service is phenomenal. Can't recommend the experience highly enough. . .Since it's BYOB you can really have a well priced meal service for the quality as well. Read more
