Went to Cru last night for the first time in Clearkfork. Chris behind the bar was awesome! He was excellent with helping us pick... out a wine flight, appetizers (Goat Cheese Beignets are a must) and the Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout. Very pretty atmosphereoutside for Christmas. Here is why I am giving this 2 stars. Food was great, wine was great, and the service was fantastic, but the employees purple... shirts have totally cheapened the entire atmosphere of this place. I felt like I was at Whataburger. Spend the money onuniforms that reflect the type of restaurant that you are wanting to portray to your customers. Elegance is the operative word.You can do better. A high end eatery for expensive small plates, and wine flights, its everything you would expect, I wasn't particularly impressed... with the charcuterie board. I'd have to try a few more items before I pass judgement. Read more
The food was really good, but the service was not great. We spent almost 3 hours here just trying to eat a simple dinner with... wine and dessert. Our server was rather inattentive, and we had to immediately know what we wanted when he would walk by or wewouldn't get attention at all. Other servers seemed to be paying more attention to their tables while ours was drying dishes anddoing other tasks and not checking on us. There is giving your patrons time/space to enjoy your meal, and then there iscompletely ignoring them unless they flag you down as you're speed-walking near their table. My wife and I love coming here for happy hour and pre-dinner drinks. However they have great food here too! The location is... great. It's next to lots of other restaurants and shopping stores.
