My family has been vacationing in Frankenmuth for over 10 years. We go to the Harvest Coffeehouse every morning of our... vacation. It has been a couple of years since we have been able to visit due to Covid. In that time, there have been manychanges. The first that I noticed was that there are only take out cups even if you are staying in the café. I realize thatthis may be due to Covid but, since restrictions have been lifted, I was surprised that paper cups were still being used. Poorchoice for the environment. Secondly, the reusable cups make it prohibitive to make a design on the latte. I realize that thisis just an aesthetic but I appreciated the time spent to craft my drink. Next, the full menu has been removed from the wall. The menu doesn't seem to have changed but it is now on paper at the counter. It's challenging for people in line to choose adrink until they are close enough to get their hands on a small menu and, for those of us over 50, we appreciated the large wallmenu as it was easy to read. People are now at the front of the line trying to quickly peruse the menu and order. Once ourdrinks were ordered, they took a while to prepare. The staff was friendly but seemed to work at one speed whether they werebusy or not. Some people in line left as they were frustrated with the wait. I ordered a chai latte the first day I arrived. It was not exactly as I remember it. It was too sweet for my taste. The next day, I ordered it less sweet but it was exactlythe same. There was no spicy chai flavour. It was more of a sweet hot chocolate alternative and not to my taste. After that,I didn't go back. The last change I noticed was that the comfy couch on the main level has been replaced with high tables andmetal stools. They were not comfortable and in fact impossible for my elderly parents to sit on. We ended up leaving the caféto find a quiet and comfortable place to sit. Check in (on yelp) right before you walk in and order and yelp gives you a... nice coupon (we made a mistake of doing that after the order so it was too late to use it. My daughter wasn't too crazy abouther order, she said they made it too sweet.
