Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere, the service, and the food, my gosh the food is superb! We had the schnitzel with... mushroom gravy, the sausage sampler, and a huge pretzel to start! Spatzle, red cabbage and potato salad was the best we havehad. Our toddler had pizza and he was happy. We had zero room for dessert but next time we will take it to go! Thanks for anamazing dinner and service. We had the best server, she is a true gem. Read more

My husband and I went there on Sunday evening for dinner to celebrate our belated 6th Wedding Anniversary and his birthday... weekend. It looks like an old world train station made into a restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg. Plenty of parking spacesoutside the restaurant. Unfortunately it was raining on Sunday which kind of dampened my mood (pardon the pun). The ambience iswarm and inviting with plenty of available seating when we arrived. Our waitress was dressed in traditional German clothes whichadded extra charm to the place. She was very friendly and kind natured. She brought out the complimentary warm bread basket withbutter to start us off while we decided what to order. We ordered the small sized pretzel which turned out to be actually prettybig and filling for the two of us. I enjoyed the cheese dipping sauce and my husband enjoyed dipping the pretzel in the mustardsauce. I liked the presentation of the pretzel. It was freshly baked and had perfect amount of crunchiness to the crust whileretaining its softness on the inside. We decided to share a plate of Chicken Cordon Bleu with sides of glazed carrots andBratkartoffeln which is a German style fries. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because the portion of the chicken I atewas bit dry on some sides. The inside filling of ham & cheese on the other hand melted in my mouth and I couldn?t help but closemy eyes with each scrumptious mouth. It was perfectly creamy with soothing flavor. The glazed carrots were equally scrumptious. Not overly sweet yet sweet and tender enough. Bratkartoffeln is just potatoes so not much to write about here. The waitress waskind enough to surprise us with a slice of cake for our anniversary/birthday weekend. I am not a cake fan but I definitelyenjoyed eating the strawberries with the cream that surrounded the very moist rainbow cake. They even went through the troubleof lighting a candle on top of it. Alpine chef ranks high on hospitality, classy ambience, overall Read more

What a wonderful German happy hour lunch. My boyfriend and I came in excited for the happy hour special of 1/2 pints for $5. We... split a wiener schnitzel ($26), which they split onto two plates nicely for us without asking, and then the Taste of Germany.Such good food and plenty of it. The bartender and our waiter were great! Read more

Coming from Germany to taste German food is always a challenge you need to accept. First off, yes the amount of food you get is... genuine German. Too much but you can take it home to continue the beer festival. Good beer and the red cabbage was the best. Read more
