It was ok, place looked dingy to me and had a lot of clutter on the dining space. The chef was uninspired and food was ok,... nothing special. I probably wouldn't go back because there are better local options. Read more
Went to Mahzu today and the overall experience was horrible. The atmosphere felt stale and dead. The place was not really... clean. Even on the way to the bathroom, an older gentlemen/ worker was picking his toes. The food was just as bad. The sushitasted rather plain and was not really appealing. It just didn't taste very fresh. The food here was just so-so to bad. There are definitely much better sushi places to eat at in Freehold... "Go there not... here"! The roll I ordered was a combo of shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. The Tuna was of the "soft pate" variety... Not veryappetizing at all. I pushed it off my meal and didn't eat it. We also ordered some fried rice...
