I really like this place. Service is top notch and the yakitori is great. Location is small and can get crowded so come early or... make reservations if you in a bigger group. There is also bar seating if it?s one or two. Wide selection of sake also!!! Read more

We got there at 5:30 on a Thursday evening and were seated right away. The place was clean. The service was very good. ... Skewers were good. I debated if I should give this restaurant a 5 star or 4. 4 stars because the Sukiyaki is far fromauthentic. A bit pricey but overall a very good experience. By 6 PM this place was packed. Read more

I've been here 7+ times, since they opened pre-lockdown back in February 2020 and after they finally re-opened last year. The... food is quality and it hits hard. There's just not that many options for yakitori in the Bay that's under $100 and doneproperly. I'm just glad there's finally somewhere that offers tsukune and motsunabe and leaves you full and content at aroundthe $40 price mark. This is the only spot in the East Bay where you'll be able to get cuts like chicken oyster, abalone, driedsmoked fish, and a grilled onigiri in one spot. I usually start off lighter cut like breast, followed by an onigiri, and thenback onto the meat with something fatty like their duck or galbi. Tsukune is a great mid-meal skewer, but don't shy away fromtheir offal like chicken heart or neck meat. Best way to end it is on their grilled sweet potato. Most of the time, warm, mildlysweet with a bitter crisp skin cleanse the palate. Though I have gotten it once at slightly under room temperature; the sweetpotato was still edible and cooked through, but it seems the center didn't cook as the potato was too big. Side note, thisplace gets really busy on the weekends, especially after 7PM. If you pop in to get on the waitlist and you see large tablesfilled up and an entourage of Initial D/Forza enthusiasts' cars outside, you might be better off hitting up another spot. Myestimated wait time was 45 min, but it ended up actually being 80 minutes. Read more
