Stopped by Fuoco last Saturday after someone recommended their pizza. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar.... The restaurant was pretty busy, with a pleasant, buzzing atmosphere. We shared the Involtini Ai Sapori 14 appetizer - prosciuttocrudo wrapped fresh mozzarella with baby arugula, served on a thin layer of pesto. The prosciutto crudo was delicious! I woulddefinitely recommend this appetizer, great for sharing as you receive a generous portion. Next we shared the funghi e salsicciapizza. The tomato sauce was wonderful, and all ingredients appeared to be of great quality. The crust was wonderful: crispy andairy, charred with that pleasant smoky flavor. I read through some reviews and noticed some patrons were unhappy about their'soggy' pizza. If you are not familiar with Napoletana-style pizza, you should prepare yourself for you what might call 'soggy',as the liquid from the sauce and cheese tends to create a hot, soupy, molten area at the center of the pizza. One of the reasonswhy this type of pizza is eaten with knife and fork as it can be tricky to pick it up. While some Napoletana-Style pizzeriashave taken American taste into account and have adjusted their pizzas to be a bit more dry, I personally prefer the pies thatlean towards the 'wet' center. All in all a great experience, and when in the area, I would definitely go back. Read more

Went to fuoco for lunch, got the buratta and bufala cheese from the cheese bar, and a black truffle and regular pepperoni and... cheese pizza for a kiddie. Food is all good, pizza crust had a nice chewy texture and is thoroughly salted and flavorful. Thetruffle pizza has a nice truffle aroma without it being to perfumey. We ordered the pepperoni pizza off menu for a kiddie, butunfortunately, the pepperoni is a bit spicy, so be aware if you have spice sensitive people in your party. Lastly, the burattacheese is much better than the bufala. The bufala is dense and a bit too mild. Whereas the buratta was creamy and had a nicemilky flavor. Read more

After googling a good pizzeria near me, we decided to try Fuoco since it looked similar to authentic Napoli pizza. We ordered... Fuoco, Margherita, Vesuvio, and a bottle of Falanghina. Margherita was plain at best. It lacked a flavor of fresh tomato. Fuocoand Vesuvio were pretty good, but far from "divine" as is raved by CBS LA. Not even close at all. I suppose either the reporterhas never experienced the real Napoli pizza, or has not trained his palate to be a food reporter. Dough was a little too thickand too chewy as a Napoli pizza. I believe they should have put them in the oven two to three more minutes. Since it was a WineWednesday, they offered a bottle of wine at a half price. But when I placed the order, the server told me that the price ofFalanghina was increased from $40 in the menu, which had been already updated recently, to $50. That was a rare experience, toput it mildly. And the wine glass was disappointing. You cannot get the best out of wine with such a cheap glass. Overall, I'mnot inclined to visit this place again.
