We did not stay here, but we ate here probably 7 or 8 times during our month-long stay on Gabriola island. The food is good, and... there are a variety of options to choose from. They do have gluten free options for buns, etc. The servers were always verypleasant, and the dining room looks out over the water. This is a nice, comfortable place for a quiet meal. Read more

Beautiful views. Glacially slow service. We waited for 20 minutes before our server came by for a drink order. We were on the... verge of leaving when she finally came. Our server was nice when she finally came and got our food out fairly quickly. Theburger was overcooked and the fish and chips were dripping grease. Don't understand why a place that has so many naturaladvantages can't produce better food. Perhaps because there is few other options on Gabriola. Read more

Was kind of nervous ordering here due to bad reviews, so just ordered two drinks and fries. Fries were fresh so that was nice,... but wasn't special. We'll get a real dish next time to actually give the food a chance. But the reason for 5 stars were for theservice alone. The server was amazing and very polite. We felt bad for not ordering much but he was willing to learn to make thedrinks we wanted. He also taught us that there was a song about our home town. Bad food. Bad service. Great view. Ordered three plates. Average 1 hour 20 minutes for first plate to arrive 15 minutes later... second / third plate arrived. ... Burger was overcooked to death, seafood pasta was literally missing the seafood. Chowderlooked like chunky in a can. Fries were of a quality that said they were reheated from the day before. I get it if you don'thave staff that can cook or serve but to continue as though the view is worth more than the price and lack of services is a jokeand frankly an insult to your patrons. Read more

We rented one of the cabins for a night after camping on the island, so it seemed like luxury in comparison. The cabin had a... shabby charm, with random decor and furnishings from decades past. The beds were very comfortable; they seemed to have beenupdated, and the bedding was crisp and clean. The location is simply unparalleled. We watched the sunset from the beach acrossthe road for a couple of hours. Magical! Read more
