Finally!!!! After all the months -(years(?)) - that have gone pass since we heard our first rumor of Florida's best Cheesesteak... we decided today was the day .... Big Mills here we come!!!!! All hype or dang good Cheesesteak today was the day we would findout!!!!! Pulling up to the building the first thing we noticed was hom clean the building was and that cleanliness continuedinto the inside.. Walking in you are greeted with two large signs listing the menu. One sign listed everything and the othersign made ordering a Cheesesteak as simple as possible giving the guest the opinion of ordering everything the way they want itto be. Any mistakes made then are not the restaurants fault but the fault of the guest. (I will include pictures of signage) Weordered out Cheesesteaks with fries and drink combo. found us a table and waited while our food was cooked. Here let me say bothladies (Alelia and Jamie) working the registers taking orders were great and very helpful by explaining and answering everyquestion we had. It didn't take long and our food arrived to the table the looks of the Cheesesteaks were FANTASTIC! Diving intothem we knew that the stories we heard about the place were true and these were the best cheesesteaks we have had inFlorida. While we were dining the Owner: "Ken" came out to do table greetings and when he made it to ours we could see the pridehe had in his restaurant, his employees and his Guests. My wife and I came here after the big book sale. She has always been very fickle when it came to cheesesteaks, because honestly... there are some REALLY bad ones out there. This was not the case. My wife got the original and I had the Chicago and we were bothvery impressed. We didn't have to slather it in condiments at all because of how good it was right from the kitchen. UPDATE: I see response from owner. Thank you for clarifying, but the menu could be a bit more clear. The posted menu (see... pic) includes mayo on the list of toppings. Right under onions, peppers, etc.. Next to the list, it says "Pick 3". ORIGINALREVIEW The restaurant was clean and the service excellent. I ordered at the counter and the food was delivered to my table. Iwas also asked a few times if I needed anything, which was very kind. I had a bit of a sticker shock when I was told it was $16for my cheesesteak plus fries and a drink. I got the regular "build your own" cheesesteak. It comes with 3 sides, but I got 6,including mayo and another sauce (each count as a side). Mayo is a side? Any additional side (above the 3) is $0.30 each. Plus $3.95 if you want add fries and a drink. My meal totaled $16 plus tip. I didn't notice the second menu on the adjacentwall. Read more
You might drive by this place every single day in Gainesville and always wonder if it's good, let me tell you that this place is... amazing. The set up is cool and if you're a baseball fan you'll love the decor even more. The staff was super friendly and theygave me great suggestions as to what I should order.
