I visited this market for the first time recently. I was shopping and noticed their meat coolers. The chicken was the cleanest,... freshest bird I have ever seen in a store. Later I roasted it and made lentil soup with the broth made from the bones. The meatwas delicious, but one other thing stood out as well. The chicken was well proportioned with the legs and breast a normal size.I look at the enormous size of some chicken breasts in the large grocery chains and they are grotesquely over sized and theflesh gets a "woody" texture at times. I prefer to eat organic, kosher or halal whenever possible. Not for any religious reasonsbut the flavor and freshness, better treatment of the animals is what's important to me. Read more

The food here was amazing. My fiancé & I took a trip to Gainesville & we set out to experience some authentic food along the... way. After driving to a few other places that didn?t seem locally owned, we found Zeezenia Kitchen & Market on google & decidedto give them a try. The lady who runs the store was super sweet & made everything quickly. She shared with us that at the end ofthe day she gives the leftovers to the homeless & starts everyday off with fresh food.
