We drove up in October just to see the tree colors and decided to eat at the restaurant. What a day! Eating out on the deck,... enjoying the sun and the fantastic view of the Mississippi River down below and eating great food! It doesn’t get any better. We where there with friends, a group of four, and the food was very good in everyone’s opinion. Read more

Had lunch at the Mountain. The lunch was delicious. We ate outside and enjoyed the view overlooking the trees and the... Mississippi River. After lunch we had a nice walk around the resort. It was a lovely day. Read more

We stayed here this weekend for a girl's night out, and the location of the resort was beautiful. Just far enough out of town... to avoid the bulk of the tourists, and the views itself were amazing. As long as the weather is nice, there's plenty ofactivities there at the hotel to fill up a few hours every afternoon. The food was beyond excellent, and I will go back againjust to eat! Now for the bad stuff: this place is outdated in a serious way. It was built before certain things were madestandard by the industry, so I'm not trying to badmouth the lack of an elevator or the confusing layout. They're working on it,so I'm not going to take off any more stars, but if I had stayed any longer I would have asked for a refund and gone somewhereelse. My room was small and clean, but almost everything in it was broken in some way. Air conditioner didn't work, window istoo big for its frame and the screen had been slit, the bathtub faucet dripped and the toilet leaked just a tiny bit every timeit was flushed, the refrigerator only kicked to life after we pulled the dresser out and moved all the plugs, the tv servicekept going in and out, and the door itself was too big for its jam, so you had to disturb your neighbors every time you left theroom because the only way to get the door closed was to slam it. Also, as everybody else says, the hot tub and sauna are bothclosed, and have been for a while. For the first two days of my three day stay, there were workers on the roof right outside mywindow, and it was awkward for everyone. I wanted the sunlight and some air circulation since my air conditioner didn't work(and nobody came to check it, despite reporting it the first day I was there), but leaving the window open meant letting thebugs in and giving the construction guys a full view of whatever I was doing. I may go back eventually, but I'm going to givethem a while to get everything sorted out first! Read more

I was tempted to give it a 3, but the staff definitely made up for the lack of stuff to do. Everything was closed due to rain.... It says there is a kids area, it was a ski room that wasn't open in the summer. I can't blame them for the rain, so no zip lineor alpine slide. We did get access to the mini golf and they provided us with a plethora of board games. The restaurant wasclean and the food was very good. They must have had some water issues in the hall to the pool. No hot tub. The sauna was open.Breathtaking views. This is obviously a winter resort. Read more

Indoor pool fun rides during summer clean rooms but old. The door to the bathroom wouldn’t close because the carpet and... threshold was coming up. The sink facet in the bathroom leaked over the counter every time you used it the air conditioner unitwas very very loud. Our room with a view was very nice but the lights for the slope was right in front of it and the snow makersare right next to the light so in winter that could be a noise and light issue. The resort has no elevator so the may be a bigproblem for some people. The pool was clean and warm it’s inside and is open till midnight a huge plus for adults!!! The saunawas nice it’s electric so not steam. The grounds are beautiful they have a place for a fire that overlooks a spectacular view! The restaurant has very little to offer but good prices on breakfast for a hotel. The employees are helpful and nice but hard tofind outside the restaurant. It rained the last day and the only option for indoor activities is the pool. I’d like to haveseen something more indoor activities on bad weather days as the roads flood below the resort making it difficult to get downinto town during heavy weather. During the winter you may want a 4 wheel drive. Read more
