Love this German/French bistro in downtown Galena. Probably the best Steak Frites I have had outside Paris. The special fish... dishes are always excellent. Read more
Dinner this evening was awesome! From our server Wendy to the chicken to my sauerbraten, plus some frites and a nice... recommendation of a pino, the evening was excellent. I'm gluten free, which they work with 100%. Wife & I have been coming hereevery Labor Day weekend for the past 12 years, and I believe the food gets better every year. Such a treat to ourselves. Wishthey were located in Peoria, IL where we are from, it's that awesome. Absolutely recommend! Read more

Fantastic experience all around. Food was hands-down the best we had while staying in Galena, and despite being incredibly close... to the main shopping area, this spot was much less crammed and crowded than other restaurants. This seems like a place wherelocals actually eat rather than just tourists. Great selection of beers and wines, too. We did make reservations about a weekout since the Country Fair was taking place, but I assume reservations are a good idea regardless because it's a smallerestablishment. Read more
