I was fortunate to have lived in Germany for 7 years back in the 70\'s and 80\'s. So what a delicious surprise to have this... German food truck make it\'s debut on Galveston Island. The food is beyond yummy and the menu authentic. The owners, Judith andCharles are a true delight to chat with and get to know. If you are on the island, Around The Corner food truck is a must do! Food was fresh and delicious! It is nice to finally have some German food in the area. Each meal is prepared as you order as... this speaks for their freshness, so expect a little bit of a wait on busy days. They have a nice outdoor area to sit and relaxwhile waiting so I recommend getting a cool drink! Employees of all the food trucks in the area were incredibly helpful. As Iwas waiting for my food, there wasn’t any shady spots, but an employee from another truck put up an umbrella so I could moveinto the shade. This place is a little food truck area with outdoor seating. The food was amazing, I ordered several different items on the menu... just to basically try it all. It was well worth the drive. Took a trip to Galveston Beach to eat some delicious authentic German food for lunch. Around the corner (Um de ecke) is owned by... two of the nicest people you can imagine.\nIf you haven’t met Judith Smith & her sweet husband yet, you are missing out!\nThefood was so good it took us back to Oma’s kitchen in Deutschland. We tried almost everything on the menu! Schnitzel withbuttery spaetzel and sauerkraut & sausage. Currywurst with pommes frites. Yummy Schnuggets, the gurkensalat has the tastiestyogurt dill dressing. Then their hammered spaetzel with ham and cheese. The kids got Haribo gummy kabobs for dessert.\nHighlyrecommend a trip down to Galveston even if it’s just to get some “real” German food to go!
