We had an out of state coupon for 3 free entree's (Orem, UT). Maddie and James at Boise's Glenwood Apple Bee's were so friendly... and accommodating. The GM did allow us BOGO not 3 free meals. Food was as expected for an Applebees. However, our waitress was amazing! Would return just because of the great service.
I have learned that if you order the simple dishes at Applebee's, you have a good chance of a decent meal. We did that recently... and were pretty happy with our food. My wife had grilled chicken breast with garlic nashers and broccoli, and enjoyed it. Iwasnt real hungry and was craving a BLT, which Applebees doesnt have on menu... Our server went off menu for me and got thekitchen staff to make a BLT with fries (thank you). The review would have been 5 stars, except for a couple of facts about theBLT... the lettuce was shredded, which just makes a monster mess, plus the bacon was not fresh off the grill and was reallyovercooked. Yes, I understand that I was off menu, but shredded lettuce? Is that what they also put on burgers? I've alwaysdespised any place that can't put a leaf of lettuce on a sandwich. Also, would it have killed the kitchen staff to cook upfresh bacon? I would not have served that "hard crunch" bacon to a family member, friend, or even a stranger. Now, thetomatoes were fresh and very good and pretty much saved the sandwich. Bottom line is that the simple food can be good atApplebee's, and if the bacon had been fresh, would have made the messy, shredded lettuce a moot point. Read more
Where the server staff could be a bit more personable, the food is good and very suitable for any given mealtime. Location of... this restaurant is ideal, close to shopping and other necessary spots like medical clinics and pharmacy. Read more

Ribs were very good. Potatoes and green beans served cold. Had to ask for a side to besetved and one side was to wrong one.
