Best open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yummmm ???????? Hubby got the taco salad and it was huge and... so good! Mozzarella sticks were hot, stringy and cheesy! Just the way they should be! We are very pleased with our food, thestaff and atmosphere! Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area! Prices are decent and food is fabulous! The one star is for the super nice waitress. We arrived at about 5:30 pm on a very hot day and it felt warm inside. While... ordering I asked the waitress if the AC was on and she said the AC wasn't working. We had been given a table in a closed cornerwith no airflow. Only two of the fans were working and none of them were close to us. There were several vacant tables eitherunder a fan or in a more open space. After a while, it was really hot. We asked if we could move to a table that has someairflow, since there were many available. The manager came and sternly told us that he is sorry but those are for larger partiesand he can't waste it for three people! (the vacant table next to us was set for 4. No one sat there or on at any other tableduring our stay. ) I asked if they could turn the ceiling fan on. He said it was broken because of power outages. I asked ifthey at least could bring a small fan because it was too hot to eat anything. He said there is only one fan and that's for hiswife at the reception table because of some medical reasons and he was sorry! All, while looking at us and my 80-year-oldmom! It was so hot that he and all the waitresses were sweating. If the AC had been out for a while as they said, they shouldhave fixed it, or borough in some fans, or at least put a sign on the door saying there was no AC. A small fan costs $10-20, butapparently, they see anything to comfort the customers as a waste of money. The only reason we didn't leave was that we hadalready ordered. The food was not great either, or perhaps we couldn't taste it because of the extreme heat. I am stunned at thelevel of carelessness and lack of compassion for the customers, just because we were a small party. I don't know if it is evenlegal to serve food in such conditions. That was my first and last visit to the Bear Trapper Restaurant. Read more
Had a solid lunch here. Santa Fe fried chicken sandwich was excellent, super flavorful. My wife got a grilled chicken plate that... was simple but flavorful with a reasonable portion size. Excellent prices and our server was attentive despite having severaltables by herself. Great prices Read more

The food was decent. I like how the menu had smaller portion options. It was a fun unique place to eat while visiting bear lake.
