Joe, what happened? Location is still nice and clean but the food has really changed. Fish and chips had no flavor and virtually... no seasoning. The calamari was the worst I've tasted. At least half the plate were unflavorful peppers. The batter dry andwithout flavor. Your saving grace was the shrimp and crab nachos. I saw and tasted no shrimp but it was still tasty. Not likebefore the pandemic but good. Not sure I'll be back again. The staff was nice but they just take so very long to give you thecheck and charge you so you can leave. Delicious, expensive for 5 of us, but delicious. An experience,with a great server. But definitely out of the budget for a lot... of people, for what we had.which was market price crab buckets.crab is pricey everywhere. Lots of more affordable options on themenu. Special occasion type of place. But super yummy. Will definitely return. Read more
Joe's Crab Shack has always been great, and although it's been 7 years since our last visit, quality is still right up there... compared to our last visit. Highly recommend giving it a try if you want to indulge yourself with crab. Our server, 'Face' wasamazing. Great guy, lots of laughs, and very attentive. He checked up on us several times after our food was brought to thetable to make sure everything was good. He made this a very memorable trip to the restaurant. Read more
Hosts we’re great, waiter was new and confused. Had a moment of miscommunication and proceeded to go back and forth with me.... Manger Robin is very rude. Tried to talk to him about my concerns, got two sentences out before he’s says ok and what’s yourpoint? I don’t get it, what are you trying to say, I’m not understanding and then he began to laugh. Well if he’s let mefinish talking he would have UNDERSTOOD! I asked for an area managers info and he continued to laugh and said good look he’sin Missouri, asked me if i want corporate’s number instead? Said ok I’ll take it, he then said it and tied to walk away.When I asked him to write down or if there was a card he began laughing again. All around not good experience! The food and the atmosphere was good. The appetizers were my favorite. The great balls of fire were so crispy and delicious! I... also got a steam pot of king crab, the cajun steampot and a pound of mussels. The crab legs, shrimp and mussels were delicious!The potatoes and corn were a tad bit frozen/cold but the waitress never came back to our table once we got our food so I justset it to the side. The service was way below average. Waited 10 minutes for a coffee refill. I asked for the bill twice and itstill took 20 minutes to get. It appeared to be only 2 waitresses but only 4 tables were occupied, so it wasn't terribly busy. Ihad to give my payment to the busser who was cleaning the table and he had to find the waitress which took another 5-10 minutes. I've been to the Joe's Crab Shack in oceanside and I think I'll stick to that location. Although it's typically busy, theservice is substantially better! Read more
