Started eating there when I moved to Garden Grove in 2015. Moved out of state in 2021, yet whenever I visit the area, my usual... thought for sustenance and down home service is Mae's. A mom and pop neighborhood diner. The food is similar to Denny?s. It?s inexpensive and one of the few places that serve... lyonnaise potatoes which are thinly sliced potatoes pan fried with thinly sliced onions. I got eggs Benedict with extra crispyhash browns. Great food awesome waitresses and the chef gets ur food cooked the way you want it 99% of the time:) On another note the side of... fruit is no good at all. The fruit was all green (not ripe) so that was a waste of money. I'm sure none of them would feed thatto their own kids. Read more

The food here is gross. I got fried mushrooms and the batter was undercooked, I tried to tough through it but it was so mushy I... gagged. My biscuits were dry enough that the gravy didn't do much to soften them. But the tomato juice was good and the waitressseemed nice. My husband's steak tasted cheap and old, not at all an enjoyable experience. We will definitely not be returning. Read more
