Went there for drinks and apps. All are reasonably priced. Service is top notch. The appetizers are, um, different. They take a... traditional appetizer, like jalapeno poppers, and put their own spin on it. For example, the aforementioned poppers weresmothered in BBQ beef brisket, and the mozzarella sticks weren't sticks at all, but small balls about the size of a crabapple. This resulted in more breading than cheese, so not exactly what I was hoping for. The beer battered onion rings were very good, just a little too cold when they arrived. With that said, our party of four left not a single crumb, while thoroughly enjoyingthe drinks and atmosphere. All in all, we had a fabulous time and will definitely be paying another visit when in the areaagain. Don't want to forget to mention the amazing chef who went out of his way to make us feel at home and as if we were longtime friends of his. The hostesses were also very friendly and extremely accommodating. You can't imagine what a difference thatmakes in the overall experience and impression of David Walley's 1862. Read more

I have zero idea how this place gets off on having 4 stars. Its in the bottom 10 worst experiences I've ever had the misfortune... of encountering. This restaurant completely deserves 1 star. I'll never go back, and hopefully I wont have to. Frompretending they are too busy to seat us to try and create forced scarcity, to a bad waiter because they cant keep staff, becausethey probably dont pay them enough, to the worst food Ive ever eaten, to hot wine. Everything was awful. I cant even believeit. I paid, left, and dined somewhere else. Read more

Wonderful place, really enjoyed our 2 night stay, and used all the hot springs.

The food was good, had the Salmon with capers. The wait staff was nice and courteous. It did seem like it took a little longer... than needed for the food to come out. Prices were a little higher then I would have liked, but everything at David Walleys ispriced high. Read more
