Amazing! Full of flavor and great portions. It?s the hole-in-the-wall restaurants that have the BEST food.

This place is like a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The exterior and interior, to be quite frank, are not flattering. The area... looks old and a bit rundown but I do have to say that the food here is excellent and affordable. If you want a nice, upscaleatmosphere though, this is not the place to check out. If you only care about having authentic SE Asian food, this is a greatoption. We ordered pad thai and pho and the servings were large and the flavors were good. You can choose spicy levels from 1to 10 and there are sauces on the table near the front desk (you have to go up and grab them). The service was a bit slow aswell but they were somewhat busy on the day we came in. Read more

I love Laos food! I had it once a couple of years back at a Laos temple and have been obsessed with the flavors! I?ve been... searching for a place in north Dallas, but the only one I found was NaLinh Market. I love their food as well, but it was anhour's drive. Luckily, I came upon Sbt Lao Thai on Google and decided to check them out! First impression: If you care aboutthe interior and are looking for a nice & clean restaurant, this isn?t the place for you. The restaurant is located in thisempty strip, and from the first look, I wasn?t sure if they were in business. The sign said ?Now open: Thai Cuisine?, which mademe disappointed because I thought the original closed. Luckily, there?s a sign taped to the door saying they?re going throughreconstruction but it?s still SBT Lao Thai. There wasn?t anyone but the owner and us, but we did come on a Monday night. Therestaurant smells good. It reminded me of hole-in-the-wall restaurants that I used to eat at in Vietnam that is questionable onthe outside but serve amazing & authentic cuisines! The menu was nice, and the prices aren?t crazy high. Most dishes were under$10, which is pretty rare for Thai food. I was hoping to try the sakou sai mou, but she didn?t have it. I got khao piak, namkhao, and shrimp pad thai. My sister was just accompanying but she got Thai milk tea. The Thai milk tea wasn?t good. She saidit tastes like the bottle that you get from the grocery market, and that wasn?t what she was looking for. The lady also cougheda bunch of times while making the drink which makes my sister question the cleanliness of the place. I?m typically not verypicky with coughs but I would appreciate it if she wears a mask if she?s coughing so much. My food came out after 10 mins, andthey all smelled amazing! The khao piak noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy, and the broth was light with pieces of chicken.I wish I knew where the chili oil was because I like my soup spicy (ps; it?s on the self-serve table near Read more

This place has the best tasting Thai food and give the most generous servings. Don't let the humble exterior and the somewhat... dated interior fool you. It's excellent. I feel like it's Garland's little hidden Laos/Thai gem. For the record: Their Tom Khasoup just YUMMMY! Read more

It is very hard to find a place that serves very good Lao food or South East Asian food in general. This place is refreshingly... good. We got the kapoon, raw beef laarb, pho, nam khao, Lao sausage, and sugar cane drink. The raw laarb was good with a goodbalance of spice and bitter. Medium spice was more than enough for our group. The papaya salad with crab was a good balancewith a very classic crab flavor. All the other food was just as good with sticky rice. The sugar cane juice was freshlysqueezed from the cane. One thing is certain though. If you're looking for a very classy hip place to eat, this isn't it. Butif you're looking for a hole in the wall where the food won't disappoint, this is it. Read more
