Dined here on a very busy night and despite that, both the food and service were incredible. Our server was very patient with... our young kids and made great suggestions to accommodate them. Great selection of craft beer and generous food portions. Thesweet potato fries were hands down the best I?ve ever had. Read more
Hats off to the staff last night at The British! It was a table of 12 and the occasion was a special 18th birthday. The... celebrated young lady travelled from California to be with us. Lexi looked after us in excellent fashion - bringing out thebirthday cake at the perfect time, and there was special technical help provided to us - regrettably I did not get her name butshe saved the night. Her help enabled our video and sound to be uploaded onto the TV monitors throughout the restaurant. Thepatrons saluted the young lady with applause and shouts of Happy Birthday after the video was shown and so she was perfectlyfeted and somewhat embarrassed! Best hotel experience I have ever had. I was nervous because of other reviews but the staff were helpful and accommodating. We... came here for our honeymoon. Our original room had a breaker issue which we were patient to wait and have fixed but the staffupgraded our room instead. It also is a little tricky if you are out and about after hours. Just ask the staff to show you howto get back in. It's easy once you know. Gorgeous rooms and so clean. Friendly staff. Great food and drinks. The neighbourhoodis so cool and has so much history. Waterfront is a short walk away. Everything has been perfect. In fact, we spent a day justhanging out in the hotel because of how awesome it is. I am so sad we check out tomorrow. I don't know what is happening between the kitchen and the waiting staff, but twice now we've had food sit to be picked up under... a heating lamp. Our nachos sat there for 20 mins and only after I said something to the waiter, were they given to us. My kidsfries came cold and I waited for over an hour for a salad of spinach, beats and a little goat cheese, something that would take10 mins to make. The restaurant isn't full either when this has happened. I observed waiters just chatting away or eating theirown food from the kitchen, prepared before paying customers. Stayed at this hotel overnight the room was beautiful. Very clean Meals are not included though so take this into consideration... but there is an excellent pub restaurant downstairs but but be aware the menu changes at night, The burgers are excellent butthey do not offer them on the night menu. Only like stuff on the night menu like chicken wings and poutine. This hotel is fullof history extremely interesting . Read more
