My husband and I chose to eat here because it was right across the street from our hotel. The food was not delicious, but good.... The Cole slaw was gross. I typically don't say bad things but it was just cabbage drowning in mayo and some odd flavor. However, the bartender did know how to make my drink so that made me happy. Our waitress was very pleasant and took good care of us.Based on the food, we probably won't visit again as there are plenty of other dining options available in the area. Read more

Oddly this place didn?t pop up when we searched google for restaurants. We ran into some people at a stop on while touring the... battlefields. They said this places was a must for lunch. As they always stop here. So off we went for lunch. This place isplenty big! It one big table for a good size large family too! Plenty of outside seating as well an booths inside. There are twobathrooms. A good kids menu as well. A stroller will fit in here. The chicken dish on the kids menu is actually pretty tastytoo. Had to cut up for my kid an took a bite. Watch out it?s hot but yummy! The food wasn?t anything like crazy. Our wraps werewraps but could use more salad an dressing in them lol. The corn fritters were the best thing but they didn?t give me enough.I?m telling you now order more of those lol. I would literally go back for these. The sweet tea is sweet!!!!! The staff arewonderfully sweet! Remember to order more corn fritters! Read more

I would like to start with: this restaurant is very charming and comfortable. I would give it a 5-star rating for atmosphere and... friendly and competent staff. I am giving it 4-star because the food was only slightly better than average. Our server, Katie, was very friendly and attentive. I had the Corned Beef Special. It was ok.. nothing special to ?write home about?. The cornfritters were good. My wife had the French Dip. She said it was okay, but not as good as what I make at home. We also shared thePretzel Sticks with beer cheese.. also good but nothing special. The outside is awash with beautiful flowering plants that madeit very inviting. We were just ?passing through? so it was fun to stop there. I?m glad that we did, but having done it now, Iwould probably try some other place next time through Gettysburg. If you are looking for a fun place, give it a try. Just don?texpect 5-star food. Read more

Stopped in here after our first choice had too long of a wait. We were in a little bit of a hurry but even with a group of 6 we... got in and out in a little under an hour without feeling like we were rushing to eat. The food came out reasonably quickly afterwe ordered (but not so quickly that it had to have been made in advance), and our waitress was super friendly and did a greatjob of making sure we got in and out. I had the salmon entrée with coleslaw and corn fritters sides. The salmon was cooked welland the seasoning was very tasty. Coleslaw was very basic (just green cabbage and dressing) but it was good. The fritters wereprobably also pretty standard but I don't think I've actually had corn fritters before so it was new to me, and I really likedthem. Nice and fluffy inside. If I return to Gettysburg, I'd want to try again to go to one of the classic American taverns, butthis is definitely a safe choice as an alternative. The food was good and the hospitality of our waitress plus the nice patiomade it a great time even though it wasn't what we'd originally planned. Read more
