October 28, 2022. I had been going to Chaps Pit Beef for over 10 years and this particular visit was the worse I have ever... experienced. I had 2 separate orders and had to keep asking is my orders ready. The first order was a Gus, the Chicken Caesarsalad and a medium soda. As usual, I went to get my wife a sweet iced tea and the condiments. At the condiment station, theSweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce pump bottle sprayed the sauce on my shirt because the pump top was not secured to the jug. I calledthis to the attention of the gentleman working near the condiment area. He immediately picked up the jug to ascertain what wasthe problem and offered to pour some in the container for me. This was good but I still have BBQ sauce on my shirt. Then Ifilled my wife soda cup to find out there were NO LIDS for the medium cups but plenty lids for large or small cups. Next afterwatching several people who came in after me get their orders I went to the counter and inquired about my order. They could notlocate my food items. I thought maybe the salad was the hold up so I then ordered a large order fries and another soda. Afterwatching a few more people get their orders I asked the young lady where is my order because I observed her bringing orders topeople that were both before and after me. At this time she handed me the bag and said the other worker called the number but noone answered. I was seated directly infront of the pick up window watching the man place orders in the bags and writing numberson the bags but neither me or my wife heard our number called. When my wife got her salad she said the chicken was cold andspongy. My wife took her salad back to the front and told them she could not eat it because the chicken was cold and spongy. Shetold me the cook then took the same chicken and returned it to the grill to "heat it up". Carry out is always iffy - but this was so bad we will never go back. Beef was a generous amount, almost too much, but had zero... flavor. The two sandwiches that were supposed to be very rare were not and the two that were supposed to be well-done were alsonot. They completely reversed what we ordered. The roll was a soggy, mushy mess - we threw them away and just ate the meat. That much meat needs more than a hamburger roll! The horseradish - 1 container had a good amount in it, the other two had asmear of something up the side of the container that we also threw out and used our own. Each sandwich had maybe 4 pieces ofonion. The mac and cheese came in a plastic container that you would expect to get a condiment in, not a hot side dish.
