Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. We decided upon the Glen House for our Thanksgiving Meal as we were going to... be away from home and wanted a decent Turkey meal. First impression is the fact that you quite literally sit in the lobby of thehotel which is odd I suppose you forget about that as the view is spectacular-we ordered two Old Fashions they were deliciousthen came the wait?.it was a fixed menu for thanksgiving so the kitchen was only cooking certain things? the wait? no bread wasoffered our daughters meal was not given the opportunity for soup or a salad so she had to wait even longer for actual food andwhen the actual food came?COLD. My daughter and I got the Turkey dinner the gravy was solidifying it was plated so long beforecoming out. We were soo hungry by this point that we didn?t say anything (I wouldn?t anyway when it comes to sending food back)and ate some our cold food. My husbands prime rib was basically raw. I don?t normally take the time to complain about suchthings but it was the fact that it was thanksgiving day and at the price we were certain we were going to have a fabulous meal.Sadly disappointed. Good and bad. No views from most of the tables, and the view is part of why we chose the establishment. Staff is very cool. ... No friendly greeting. Acted very awkwardly and they did not give clear feedback or instruction when I asked for a table for 8. Someone mumbled they would need to put tables together. I looked around and saw nothing but empty tables save for a table ortwo. We went outside the hotel lobby quite a while to enjoy the view while we waited and waited until I returned to inquire ifour table was ready. I was told it was ready, though it seemed no one was going to bother to come and tell us, and it was noteven large enough to seat us all? no tables were put together at all. That would not have taken much effort. Complimentaryblueberry muffins were a nice touch, though they lacked any salt and we were only given 7 for our party of 8 and not asked if wewanted more. We waited an exceptionally long time to order (after waiting so long for a table that had been clear and readyfrom the moment we arrived), and then we waited an even longer time for food, despite there being only a few patrons present. The children were starving by then? another basket of muffins *would* have been really nice. We overhead our waitress go over tothe couple seated after us who had gotten to just walk in and sit right down, and tell them she was going to get their order inahead of ours!!!! The children's pancakes had an odd crispiness and flavor of having been fried in butter. They are not everpicky about pancakes, but did not care for these. My bacon was superb. I wouldn?t return based on the coldness of the staffand it being very un-family friendly. Read more
