First visit and we got there with just an hour before closing so im rating with some grace for that. Very friendly staff, nice... atmosphere, prices were very reasonable. Bread was very good, gravy had good flavor but was very thick (probably due to time).Breaded chicken was undercooked in the middle (still pink) ice tea was excellent. My friends shrimp was excellent he said (imallergic). They were out of a lot of sides by this time which was unfortunate. We will definitely try again. Read more
For a country kitchen in the heart of Amish, I would have expected better food. The cheese curds were still cold in the middle.... The bread was a cute little loaf, and that was about as far as it got for goodness; as the bread was not warm and the amount ofseasoning with drowned butter as a topping brought down to a taste point that made it hard to eat. The waiter couldn't evenremember if he took our order or not. The amount of goofing off they were doing definitely explains why the amount of time mydrink sat empty was longer than I had anything to drink in it. The steak I ordered was to be cooked to a medium, it was way overcooked, thin, about the thickness of a slice of bacon. Th wife's steak was cooked medium rare like she ordered, but was full ofgrissel. The steak knives were barely able to cut the steaks, might want to bring your own if you visit this place. Anyhow,finally we decided that we would order dessert and went for the apple pie, well that put the nail in the coffin ??. The pie wasmicrowaved to a piping hot state, the filling was full of cinnamon to the state it looked like a spilled Guinness beer and wasabout as thick as a spilled beer. Food was terrible. Onion rings were full of grease, hardly no onion and over cooked. There was more bun than fish on the fish... sandwich. Bread that is always served at the table was hard. I tried calling several times to order carry out but got ananswering machine that was full of messages every time. They were not even busy when my boyfriend went to order the food andwait for it. Orders were not correct. Supposed to have 2 orders of potato salad and only had one. While my boyfriend was waitingfor the carry out he ordered a drink and a piece of cake. He had to wait forever for his drink and received a small slice ofcake. The to go cake slices were much larger although the cake was not moist. For $62.00 we should have gone elsewhere and fromnow on we will! Used to be good but has gone way downhill. Read more
