My family and I were traveling home to Virginia from Charlotte NC when we stopped in Greensboro to find a place for early... dinner. After a bit of Google Map searching, we came upon this place and decided to stop by to try it out. From the moment Iwalked in, I was greeted almost instantly and treated like a regular. We ordered two cheesesteaks and a double baconcheeseburger with a large side of onion rings to share. I was quoted 10-15 minutes, and the food was ready prior to theestimated time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great; a nice blend of personal touches and professional commercial. Thegentleman behind the counter was upbeat and polite. The food was excellent. I personally had the double bacon cheeseburger, andit was perfect. Great flavor and juicy. I would put this burger up against any chain (move over, Five Guys). The family saidtheir cheesesteaks were great, too. The onion rings were flavorful and fried perfectly. I always enjoy seeing a small businessthrive. This one deserves the praise. This was my first time at Monk's after finding it on Google maps...I love finding awesome new places to eat! They say the joy is... in the discovery; well, the stellar service and unbeatable food brings even more joy. I was immediately greeted and helped uponentering, and made my order after browsing the menu...New York Cheesesteak sandwich, New York hot dog, Mushroom and Swissburger, and Mozzarella sticks. Paying with cash earned me a discount, and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. Absolutely love this spot. Best cheese steaks I've had in Greensboro. The fries are also superb and the staff is super friendly.... Plus they have a good online ordering system with rewards, I got a free fry on my last visit! Plus you can pick up at thetakeout window. Their hours are more geared towards lunch so if you want Monk's for dinner just make sure you get your order inbefore 7:30! Read more
