This was a 4-4.5 star pizza until I got to the crust. I like a nice bubbly crust on a thin pizza, and this was just dry -... making it fall flat in my book. Read more
I am getting ready to order another Extreme Pizza in Grosse Pointe and thought maybe I should finally share how much I genuinely... love their food - especially the pizzas. My go to favorite is the Yard Sale pizza with a little extra sauce. The sauce is outof this world. Seriously. I never thought how big of a difference the sauce makes on a pizza until I started eating at Extreme.I think I could drink a glassful of it. I love pizza and I have eaten quite a variety of them through the years and from allover. I love how styles vary, you know like NYC has fantastic pizza unique to the City; Chicago is famous for their super deepdish and bowl pizzas; St.Louis has this awesome cracker-style crust and they use a special cheese that is only made in St. Louis(it?s called Provel) etc. Point is, you can?t order a NY-style slice and expect it to taste like a Detroit square and thencomplain about it hahahaha. Enjoy the uniqueness each place has. Extreme has a very thin crust unlike anything I have ever hadbefore and I was so happy that they make a great pizza that is unique to them. I love their crust because it does not take awayfrom the toppings. It?s really cool eating a pizza where the toppings are the star and not bogged down by the dough. And yes,again, that sauce - unreal Btw, they have really good salads and some other stuff. Hahaha I only eat the pizzas and salads so Idon?t remember everything else ????. By far best pizza we've found in the GP area yet. Innovative combinations of toppings are a really reasonable price, could... never build these types of pizzas at a place that charges by the topping. No delivery but sign on door says doordash. Eachextreme pizza is independently owned/operated so make sure to view menu for this location. Only con- they dont accept amex. Read more
