We got takeout from Royal Thai for dinner on the first night of a three day road trip. I've never eaten so well en route before.... I had the broccoli entree, stir-fried with shiitake mushroom and garlic wine sauce, with tofu and extra veggies prepared mediumhot. It wasn't very spicy, but it was delicious, and I accepted the hot sauce (sambal oelek) they offered when I picked up myorder, so I adjusted some of my meal. For dessert I had taro custard, which was everything I imagined it would be. My wife hadduck pad thai and sweet rice with egg custard. She liked them both so much she didn't let me taste them. She also saved herleftover pad thai carefully transferring it from hotel fridge to minivan cooler to hotel fridge to minivan cooler to enjoy atour destination where she knew I'd be tired enough to eat a pack of cheese crackers for dinner and call it enough, but shewanted something good. You don't have to eat the food from Royal Thai on a hotel room bed while wearing your favorite sweats, but the beautifully fresh veggies certainly add some class to the photo. Read more

This is honestly one of my favorite restaurants ever. When I was in the area for about 3 days I ate there for almost every meal.... I interacted with several different staff members and they all seemed really nice. Everything was made pretty fresh and the waittime wasn't too bad. I think the duck over rice was really good, and I definitely try the Thai iced tea with whatever you get. Anegative would definitely be the fact that it's not in the best area, like it's not really near anything at all. I went in themid spring and this was basically the only thing to do besides watch the newly released Sonic movie. Still heavily recommend ifyou are driving around Chicago! Read more

Okay Thai, over the years I've sampled the chicken satay and pad Thai, this time I tried the Thai wings and some potstickers.... It's a solid 3 star experience. Read more
