Great food, atmosphere and live jazz every week. They are a wine bar but they have a few types of beer available

My boyfriend and I went to Obladee last night to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. The server brought us a small sample of sparkling to start and wished us a happy anniversary which was thoughtful. We ordered the gougères and warm baguette with brown butter. I am a cheese lover and my boyfriend is not a picky eater by any means, but we were not able to eat the gougères as the taste was incredibly off-putting. We appreciated that the server kindly took these off our bill and we were left with our baguette and butter. The baguette was very dry and tough to chew as if it had been sitting out all day. It was quite disappointing that we paid a $10 entertainment fee and in the hour and a half we were there, the band played for about 30 minutes. Our experience certainly dampened the mood for our anniversary and we ended up cutting the night short. This was my boyfriend's first visit there upon my suggestion and I was little embarrassed that it did not impress. While Obladee has a beautiful atmosphere and seemingly lots to offer, we were really disappointed by our experience, especially given how much we paid.

This place is incredible. Extensive wine list, knowledgeable and friendly staff, would highly recommend!

Food was decent enough. The brussels were good but the gnocchi left a bit to be desired. The mornay sauce was a bit watery from the gnocchi and the spiced asiago completely overpowered everything else, you might as well have given me a plate of chorizo sausage. Service certainly needs some improvement. I was sitting at the bar for a solid 10 minutes before anyone ever asked if I was interested in food. If you are going to serve food, I recommend you ask your guests if they are interested in food off the menu. I understand if it's busy, but if the staff are spending more time polishing glasses or talking around the POS, you aren't really that busy. Not asking about food gave me the sense the food was not worth the time. Aside from the service time, the staff were kind and that's why I gave 4 stars. Wine list was very good.

I study wine (and pairing wine with food) so I'm always looking for places that will broaden my palate. Hands down I would recommend the 4 course meal with wine pairings, we were just mesmerized by how the food and wine paired beautifully. My fiancé and I shared one order of the 4 course meal and ordered other foods of interest. My favourite was the oysters and its sparkling wine pairing and my fiancé adored the gnocchi paired with a red blend of sangiovese and cab sauv, it was a close second for me with such juicy and flavourful sips. I also really enjoyed the cheese boards (some paired with wine flights). I wish I read the menu properly because I thought it was cheese and charcuterie but it's actually one or the other so I haven't had the chance to try their charcuterie. Because I'm so used to tasting 6+ wines in one sitting, I enjoyed the pairings and flights more because you get small amounts of many wines instead of a big glass of one or two wines. 10/10 would recommend Obladee, it's great for any wine lover!

Pricey and Vibrant dinner date spot. Wear in a suit, take your partner/gf/wife for a formal dinner. Good collection of wines and cheeseboard is good for sides. However if you feel like trying different varieties of food without looking at price tag or quantity this is not a option. Take a table in the patio, it has a really good view.

Romantic spot to share a bottle of wine and listen to live jazz music. However, it was a bit pricey and our server was rather unfriendly

After an evening out we decided to stop by Obladee for a night cap. The wine list is huge, offering many wines not offered at other places, including wines from Niagara (Pearl Morissette and Domaine Queylus) and orange wines. We decided on a 2012 Sauternes after perusing the extensive list offering both wine by the glass and by the bottle. Service was great. Was particularly impressed with the cleaning/polishing process of the wine glasses that we got to observe happening at the bar. Overall if you?re looking for some light bites and some great wine, highly recommend checking it out.
