The sushi you must try in Halifax. This was the best Japanese food we had during our trip to the east. We used to have a nice sushi dinner in St. John's which I thought should be the best but obviously I was wrong. You shouldn't miss sashimi, unagi pizza as well as the hidden menu. Ramen was also good and kids loved so much.

Had the miso Ramen, soft shell crab, and a couple sushi rolls and everything was incredible! The Mrs. Had the seafood ramen. Fast, friendly, service and a cool decor. Definitely be back!

I heard nothing but amazing things from people who have eaten here, so I gave it a try while in town, and I was amazed! This is by far the best seafood ramen I've ever eaten! The ingredients were all great quality and you could tell with every bite! I had the sushi as well, and it was the same amazing experience! We ate here both days of our trip because it was that good! Great friendly staff and a nice atmosphere!

I tried the Tokyo ramen and the Haru bento, both lunch specials. There was nothing wrong with the food, but there was also nothing fantastic about it either. Overall the sushi and ramen were both very mediocre and a bit disappointing considering the high rating. The fish did not seem very fresh and had a dryness that contributed to its blandness that the soy sauce could not even help. The rice was also not quite soft enough, maybe due to being left out too long and having cooled off? The assortment of tempura were great and fried nicely which I thought was the most enjoyable part of the bento. The ramen was decent with the soup being a tad bit too salty but had a good texture. The ramen noodles were also nice and chewy, however the chasiu and egg yolk were both slightly overdone. The yolk should be more runny. The restaurant itself is very casual and I think a lot of people from around the neighborhood dine here so it was quite lively. The staff are also very friendly and provide good service. It's fine for what it is, and I don't think there's anything worth raving about but that's just my opinion. Other reviewers seem to be enjoying it fine.

This is our all time favourite Japanese restaurant! After coming back from Japan and wanting to find ramen locally, this was the only place that tasted just like it did in Tokyo! The sushi is incredible with gorgeous presentation and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an excellent experience!

This was my first experience with North American sushi and I was pleasantly surprised. This unassuming store is situated in a tiny mini mall in an otherwise residential neighborhood but it is by far the best sushi in town on the basis of taste, portion size, presentation and freshness. I?d never had cream cheese, tempura, or sauces added to the sushi before but I was very happy with the taste and the texture and I highly recommend trying it since it is quite different from traditional sushi. Great experience and my friend picked up the bill so it was even better. Thank you Tako Sushi and Ramen.

Probably a contender for the best sushi in Halifax! The Ramen not so much! The sushi is to die for! We order a small selection of sushi that included a cucumber wrapped sushi, a torched tuna sushi the Paris roll and the New York roll. All were fantastic! The cucumber wrapped gives you a nice crispy and refreshing taste. Now, let?s talk about the ramen, the broth needs to be richer in flavour and the egg was not marinated enough to give you that true ramen taste as well as it was over cooked. The egg is supposed to be a little runny. Noodles in the ramen were good, almost taste like they are made fresh from scratch, meaning they buy good quality ingredients. Overall I give it a 4/5 because of the ramen, otherwise if they?d only focus on sushi it be a 5/5
