This place is 10/10. We have really high food standards and it takes a lot to impress us and all I have to say is wow. It was... fantastic and so delicious. Dined here last night with a group of 9. Reservation made well in advance and we were placed at a table that was too small for 9... people so we were very crammed. Service was slow and probably took close to 2 hours for me to receive my main (others hadordered appetizers which came first, but I had not). When the food did arrive, portions were small, food was barely hot andtaste was a bit bland, disappointing for the price point. Service was just okay, our server was nice enough, but you could tellshe didn?t want to be there. Amazing atmosphere. The tall table for 6 was perfect on the deck. Sangria was perfect as was the margarita. Our boys loved their... burgers. The fish tacos and California Super Food salad were incredible as was the Newfoundland Cod and cauliflower. And to topit all off, the cheesecake was a perfect way to end the evening. Atmosphere and architect was pleasant. The menu gave you delicious options for dinner. The pricing was in par for restaurants of... this caliber. The service started off excellent, but sadly it did not hold up throughout the meal. the appetizers came quicklyand were delicious. The drinks options were amazing and plentiful. Ordering our mains took longer than expected. It did appearour waiter was extremely busy with other tables. Which affected his ability to serve others adequately. Our main meal wasextremely delicious and tasteful. Our waiter did not come back once during our meal, did not ask if we needed anything. We didorder desert, it was delicious. For the price point and reputation of Mercantile, we did expect better service. This is thereason for three stars. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, sadly he did seem overly busy to give theproper service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good menu. Read more
