This was the best meal that I’ve had in Halifax. It was a cascade of deliciousness. Bring your friends who appreciate... excellent cuisine, order everything on the menu, share and make sure to get lots of bread to soak up the exquisite sauces. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, the selection of plates is interesting and eclectic! BUT the plates I had... were way too salty/over salted! (Specifically the shrimp dumplings and the X'ian Noodles). I could not truly enjoy the flavourswith the deluge of salt taste! Some chefs like to throw in too much salt to increase the taste factor - especially for dinerswho don't know the difference. But as someone who cooks at home and keeps the sea salt to a minimum, I was turned off - esp. forsuch an expensive, gourmet restaurant. Read more
My friend was recommended this place, so we thought we’d start our night here. What an amazing experience from the moment we... walked in we were greeted and accommodated considering how busy it was. I really like the atmosphere, the colours, the wood thewarmth and design. The service was next level the best recommendations, drinks made on the spot according to what we werefeeling. The bartenders knowledge and service was fantastic. The food was truly amazing the dumplings were the ?? of the night,we ordered more than a couple orders. Had a wonderful first experience at The Ostrich Club in the hydrostone celebrating my partners graduation today. We tried all... kinds of the amazing dishes that they offered. Each one better than the other. This was easily one of the best diningexperiences I have had in Halifax! Our server Lindsay did a good job, and all of the cocktails were incredible. The Ostrich Club provided one of the best meals I've had in Halifax. The space was warm and elegant, and they played hip hop... throughout the night, which worked for me. The service from Nathalie and the rest of the team was excellent. For all theingredients listed in the cocktails, the flavours were subtle, but overall, the drinks were tasty. Many of the dishes I triedwere knockouts. The Ostrich Club could only serve pulled noodles, and I'd be happy. The shrimp dumplings had so many toppingsthat they verged on carnival food, but in all the right ways. The rich dark chocolate mousse was one of the best desserts I'vehad in recent memory. If there was a low note, it was the truffle fried rice. There were too many fatty and oily components inthe wrong proportions for me. However, one person at the table said it was their favourite dish, so what do I know. Overall, itwas an outstanding meal. I'm already planning my next visit. Read more
