The owner's daughter and the bar tender could do better. I was sitting at the bar waiting to be waited on for quite some time.... A gentleman walked in eatery and sat next to me and the owner's daughter spoke and immediately asked him "what do you want toeat or what would you like to drink. Meanwhile, I had been sitting there for about 15-20 minutes never asked may I help you. Ithought that this was America and we all have the same rights but at this eatery I found out and was showed to me that we arenot they only catered to certain people and to my knowledge everyone is equal and everyone should be treated the same. I askedthe bartender when can I order because a person came in after me and got instant service and had no reservation. My money isstill green and spends everywhere else. Read more
Where to begin with this place. I got the fried green tomatoes, a southern staple, and it had freaking curry powder in the... breading. Why in the world would anyone do this to a great dish? It completely overpowered the star of the show and is not asouthern spice that belongs in this amazing dish. I had the filet mignon, medium rare cook, with potatoes au gratin, red winemushrooms, green beans, and demi-glace. It came looking like a strip steak and medium. They replaced it thankfully and cooked meanother that was medium rare. It was beautiful, round, fat, and juicy. I was super excited until I tasted it. The entire steakwas super bland and tasted like a low quality graded meat that you may get at a cheap steak restaurant. The sides were equallya disappointment. The beans half cooked and au gratin pretty tough and not as seasoned throughout. The only savior was thedessert, which was the dark chocolate brownie with ice cream and peanut brittle. I know this is a pretty harsh review, but Idropped around $130 dollars on this meal hoping for the same quality of food that I have eaten at in many cities, states, andeven countries. So delicious! Today is my first time eating at Molasses Grill. My compliments to the chefs. I ordered calamari for an... appetizer, it was cooked Just right and the sauce was so tasty. My entree was a scallop dish, they melted in my mouth. They hadso much flavor. Yummy! My desert was a huge delicious slice of coconut cake. Exceptional service was only exceeded by excellent meal. Atmosphere was quaint and allow each party the ability to have... privately conversation without being heard by surrounding guests. I was visiting my friend who brought me to Molasses and it is the cutest restaurant, with the best food, staff, and service! We... had the grilled and baked oysters, both of which were delicious, but we both said we liked the baked better with the meltedcheese and wilted greens. We also enjoyed a couple dirty martinis and the bartender even stuffed some olives with blue cheesefor us. We shared the twin lobster tails, with broccolini & mac and cheese and left nothing...the whole meal was wonderful. Wewill definitely be back on future visits to VA - thanks to the amazing staff for such a lovely experience! Read more
