Jacmel is the perfect combo of upscale dinning and quaint coziness. The Chef is spectacular. Very creative with his flavors and... love the presentation. ???? Good pours on all cocktails and wine Service is a little sub par. The servers need to step it upand stay on top of their tables. All the details matter. Refill the glasses clear the table soon as guests are finished withmeals replace napkins or cutlery after use. If they can do that 5 star across the board. Read more

Everything about our meal was fantastic. Definitely recommend the beef tips appetizer, the peanut butter cake, and key lime pie... was they best I've had anywhere. Can't say enough about the beef tips, I'm eager to return for dinner to try a steak! A littlemore expensive than I expected for brunch, but definitely worth it! Service was of the best quality I've experienced also. Wewill return many times for sure. Read more

This is NOT the Jacmel of old. I've come here since I was a child in the 1970s, since the new owners took over, the food isn't... good and the service is below their lofty standards. Atmosphere is still great. Went there last night, ordered the filet. Itwas seasoned so hot it was literally painful to eat. It was like it had been marinated in Tabasco then rubbed in peppers beforebeing cooked. Shameful to ruin such a great cut of meat. Some fancy potatoes, same thing, seasoned extremely hot. Literallyfive glasses of tea, two glasses of water and a glass of merlot later, finished it. Had to keep flagging down the waitress formore drinks, she forgot our wine until halfway through the meal when I reminded her. My wife had the pork chop with potatoesand veggies, it was seasoned even hotter than the steak! I was stunned. $136 meal for two and it was terrible. Will not beback, plenty of better places to eat in Hammond now. Shame, this has been an institution for most of my life, gone now. Read more

My (now) husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at Jacmel Inn and we absolutely loved it! They used the upstairs space just for... us and it was the perfect size for our party, which was about 35 people. The food was so so incredible; we had a set menu(steak, chicken piccata, and redfish were the entrees) and everything on it was fantastic and everyone at the rehearsal dinnerraved about the food every course. The servers were all professional and helpful and managed to handle such a big party reallywell. It was the middle of June and the ventilation wasn’t great so it was warm in the restaurant so that was a small hiccup, but we still had a fantastic time! The manager that my father-in-law spoke to was Alphonso and he had nothing but great thingsto say about how Alphonso handled everything! Read more
