Great spot for lunch or dinner! We had a group of 11 people and was able to get a table within 5 minutes. Food was delicious,... drinks were good, although alittle expensive. If we ever return to Hammondsport we will definitely stop in here again! Read more

The positive: they had ice cold beer, great server and a clean and well kept outdoor serving area. Let me preface the rest of... this review with some details. First, we were expecting fantastic. We have traveled 1.5 hours to this restaurant several timesover the last few years, the most recent before this one was in May of 2022. We have previously always found it a 5 stardestination. Secondly, it could have been a different chef, a bad day or just the supply chain issue that our server mentioned, but we probably won't return, The negative: the chili calamari appetizer that we always get was not prepared or plated the sameas it normally is...previously the calamari was always presented just like the picture on their menu. This time it was almostall rings, was poor quality, covered with gobs of sweet chili sauce. This first served order was also way undercooked (ourserver tasted it and agreed). The replacement serving was cooked, toppings were served on the side for some reason, one bite wasenough to take it out of our mouths and return it uneaten. The flavor was terrible.. The server took the price off that offthe bill. We were hungry so made due and didn't return the seafood chowder, fish or fries as we had an hour and a half ride homein front of us.. the seafood chowder was extremely salty. The fish was a little overcooked, but edible. The sweet potato frieswere perfectly cooked but were seasoned with something and just didn't have the flavor we had grown to love. Over the years wehave recommeded this restaurant to many people. Unfortunately we can no longer recommend this restaurant and that is a shame. Read more

Visited the Village Tavern for lunch on a Friday. Pretty empty of customers. Ordered French onion soup, fish chowder and 2 fish... fry. The soups were good, the fish was ok but more on the cool side..not hot or warm. The hush puppies were also servedcold. Our waiter was friendly enough. Price seemed steep for the cold fish fry. Won't be visiting again anytime soon. PS: signon window stating tavern is for sale. The owner wants to retire. Perhaps I should've been more aware of the sign beforeenetering. Read more

Always Great! Fantastic Calamari! **UPDATE: 09.06.22** Not fantastic or great ANYMORE! The used to be delicious calamari now... taste like it was frozen and also very rubbery! The cost? $18 Also ordered a Bavarian Pretzel..Sooo much salt & burned on thebottom. Got the BBQ platter to take out..it it was horrible!! First there was a long hair attached to the chicken. Both chicken& ribs were very burned as was it was the TINY piece of corn on the cob. Plus No cornbread as advertised. The cost? $38 !!! Notsure what's happening with management who apparently don't want to be there anymore. The Restaurant is for sale. I really hopewhoever buys the Village Tavern will carefully more about the food they're serving than the money they're making. Read more

I was in the area for the big Art festival and saw the sign about 138 taps so I went in. I asked for the beer list and it... wasn't even half that. I ordered the fried Brie and crackers for $18. Yes, its a lot of money but thought maybe it will beworth it. It came out as a small chunk of cheese with 4 stale flatbread crackers. I asked a woman that appeared to be themanager if we could have different crackers and she proceeded to get defensive and tell me they were not stale. At this point Iwas ready to leave but the server was sweet so I asked her about it and she seemed nervous but wanted to do something and said,we have oyster crackers. I left unhappy and felt as if the manager took it personally but I will never return due to her lackof good customer service and professionalism. I had to pay the full amount and left hungry. :( Read more
