Cool atmosphere, but so-so food. Hot dogs were soggy because of pickle, but still tasty. Caesar salad had soggy tomatoes.
This is a great place for Chicago hot dogs and the famous Chicago italian beef sandwich. I have been to a few of their locations... and while in Chicago I took two colleagues here for lunch. Employees were very happy and helpful. Tried their plant based hot dog for the first time and it was pretty good. The impossible... meat line can very salty but this was low salt and good flavor. Portillo?s always is able to keep the line moving pretty welleven when busy. Lots of to pickup and delivery orders but it doesn?t seem to affect wait time. This place is so good?. How ever coming at night the service sucks?. When you need to wait in line for 30 minutes. For a few... items it?s totally not worth it anymore. Whoever is in charge please please look into your night shift schedule whatever youguys have going on it?s simply not working it?s ridiculous to wait this long or fast food I seen so many cars pull away due tothe waiting. Business is being lost. However coming in the day there?s always a ton of workers on hand. Shift leaders let?s getthis together get these cars rocking and rolling out of these lines at night you will have a ton more business people doremember the wait. let me say I have a biased review because every time I've been to any portillo's in Wisconsin or illinois, the order is always... wrong. I mean 12 times out of 12 at least. this location was no different. it kind of amazed me how it wasn't full but we werethere maybe 9:30 p.m.? the place is usually packed and so loud you can't even hear yourself think. it was rather quiet thatnight (Thursday or Friday, I forget) and I thought I was going to have a nice experience. after we ordered our food we lookedfor a place to sit down. there were only patrons at three tables in the entire restaurant and every other booth table or chairwas visibly unclean. there was ketchup smeared on multiple tables almost like somebody did it on purpose. it was dried so it hadbeen there a while. food delivery drivers were coming in taking bags of food and then coming back and returning them becausethey were the wrong ones or something I don't know I didn't ask. we still had to wait between 15 and 20 minutes just for twoburgers two Cokes and a large fry. I asked for grilled onions and they put regular onions on it. A new record, 13 consecutivevisits where the order is always wrong. I'm uploading some pictures of just how filthy the place was and how the garbage wasoverflowing. there must have been at least a dozen people behind the counter, they all seem to be doing something but getting ineach other's way. there was one old guy who looked too old to be even holding a broom sweeping up some other area. that poorguy, the younger kids should have helped him out rather than standing around making fries, and let him do that instead Read more
