Great experience, highly recommended! We had wonderful time at The Madrona celebrating our wedding anniversary. The restaurant... is located in a hotel with charming surroundings. Allow yourself some time to wander around the property before you sit in. Itis well worth it. The atmosphere in the restaurant itself is very tranquil and romantic. Service is great and attentive. Unfortunately, having taken a very special friend to the Madrona last night for her birthday, our experience was not a terribly... good one. We were so looking forward to a really lovely evening and it just didn?t turn out that way. We had an earlyreservation and we were seated out on the back terrace at which time there was only one other couple seated. ( there were nopatrons seated inside) We did initially receive water from a very nice busboy. After about 15 minutes, we hailed thereceptionist who was seating another party and asked if we were going to have a waitress whom could start a drink order for us.A waitress did arrive after a few minutes, never smiled, did not apologize for the delay but took our drink order. After waitingalmost another 15 minutes, finally our drinks arrived. It just didn?t get much better from there. I will say that our food wasexcellent and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing two starters and an entrée which were all really really great. This experience wascompletely different from the first time my husband and I went with another couple about a month ago. We had an absolutelylovely waiter and a very enjoyable meal. A bit disappointed overall. Maybe it?s because I?m from New Orleans and had high hopes? The architecture is beautiful and well... restored however our experience just didn?t connect. To start, I was billed with a $28 manhattan at the bar. Once seated, ourwaitress seemed rushed all night and un-interested in providing a proper experience one might expect at a venue such as this. Wefelt extremely rushed and had little explanation of the menu or what we needed. At one point I asked her what her rush was, andshe responded that she couldn?t help it - that she was a mother. Being a father of two I didn?t really understand that at all,nor did it seem to be an appropriate response. In the end the food was very good, drinks arguably overpriced and experiencefalling flat.
