So I went to the restaurants of which I thought had the best Bite 30 menus earlier this year. I did my due diligence, posted my... pictures on social media, and used my hashtags. I ended up winning a gift card to a Bite 30 restaurant! I check my mail later, and there it is, a gift card to the Broken Spoon. A new place to try! I was very excited. So I hoof it up here after work oneday, and it is a great looking spot. Lots of excellent patio seating. The indoor seating is either cozy and bodega-like, orthere are beautiful lakeside views. We got a lakeside view, and started to look at the eclectic menu. I can't quickly find anonline menu, so I'll just paraphrase. The first think I tried was the house fried kettle chips with the whole blue cheese andbacon and balsamic on top. Very good. You can't mess this up. Very crispy, very balsamicy, and the blue cheese, so good. Aclassic app. I followed up with some chicken wings. I think they were some sort of spicy garlic flavor. They were crispy andjuicy and nice. A+ wings. Thennn I had some chicken satay skewers, I think they were called. Chicken on a stick. Well seasoned. And a peanut sauce on the side. Solid. Thennnnn I tried the wildest thing of all. A martini glass with all three, ayoghurt-based dip, a pesto dip, and a salsa, all in the Same Glass. I've never seen anything like it. It was served withtortilla chips and soft pita bread. Surprisingly, it worked. I don't recommend trying to make this at home, because you'llprobably mess it up, but here, it worked. I finished off with a nice slice of tiramisu that was the epitome of four stars. Iwas a fan. I was a fan of this whole place. It was a good birthday dinner, and if I ever am in Heathrow and I get hungry, I'llcome back. Read more

If you're looking for the best food in Lake Mary your search stops here! Based on Google reviews I knew the food would be good... but I had not idea how great both the food and the people behind it would be. My experience started with a greeting from Traviswho graciously made my new favorite drink called a Lychee martini. At his recommendation I ordered the Sea Scallop Gnocchi, which turned out to be amazing and is one of the many reasons I will return. As I enjoyed my food and drinks both Mena and ChefDee introduced themselves and we began the 1st of many conversations throughout the night. Mena and Chef Dee shared so much withme about their passion for food and culture which is very reflective in the food they serve. At one point Mena shared that theyhave fruit trees that produce Lychee and Mango and shortly thereafter she had some samples of then all for me to true. It waslike this was a part of my family I had yet to meet and their hospitality only continued! Chef Dee proceeded to tell me detailsabout his background and how he can cook to order just about anything anyone would want right here in his kitchen. We talkedabout his wonderful dessert options and I chose the Bread Pudding with a whiskey glaze sauce and well that is now the 17threason to come back to The Broken Spoon. We continued to talk over the dessert and I shared with them how grateful I was forboth the food but also their company. Upon leaving I ran back and asked to take a photo with them all as I hear if you don'ttake a pic it never happened so I did! It's hard to ever find these kind of connections in a world surrounded by bigcorporations and chain restaurants and I am very fortunate to have been able to not only meet the owners but get to know them.Thank you Travis, Mena and Chef Dee for an unforgettable experience! I'll see you soon! Read more

We had the Garlic Parmesan Wings, Salmon, and Pho (today?s special) for dinner, and Chocolate Crème Brûlée and Mango Sticky... Rice for dessert. They were out of the White Beans they normally serve with the Salmon, so they gave me garlic mashed potatoesinstead. The Salmon was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were the best I?ve ever had. My girlfriend got the Pho, andthe broth was very flavorful, not bland at all, and had not a trace of fat. The desserts were delicious, too! I can?t recommendthis place enough, and we will definitely be back. Read more
